Ronda Agila Reaches Two Glan Schools in One Day

GLAN, Sarangani Province – Joint Task Force (JTF) AGILA, in partnership with the Provincial Government of Sarangani, Department of Education (DepEd) Sarangani, Provincial Health Office (PHO) of Sarangani, Provincial Social Welfare and Development Office (PSWDO), Camp Panacan Station Hospital Mental Health Team, 11th Field Service Support Unit, OND Hesed Foundation, Inc., and the Local Government Unit of Glan, continued the Ronda Agila Project, reaching two schools in a single day through psychosocial interventions and humanitarian assistance for disaster-affected learners of San Vicente National High School and Glan Padidu National High School on August 27, 2026.

The activities were conducted by the 1002nd Infantry (BAGWIS) Brigade, 10th Infantry Division, through the 10th Civil-Military Operations (KALINAW) Battalion, Civil-Military Operations Regiment, Philippine Army, and the 73rd Infantry (NEUTRALIZER) Battalion, 10th Infantry Division, under the theme “Nurturing Hope, Building Resilience, Stronger Together.”

At San Vicente National High School, 97 learners from Grades 7 to 11 participated in psychosocial activities designed to help them express their emotions, manage stress, develop positive coping mechanisms, and strengthen their resilience following the 7.8-magnitude earthquake and flash flooding that affected communities in the municipality.

The intervention provided a safe and supportive environment where learners could process their experiences, build confidence, and strengthen social connections. Each participant received a psychosocial kit to support continued learning and emotional recovery. Family food packs from DSWD were also distributed to provide additional assistance to the learners and their families.

In the afternoon, the Ronda Agila team proceeded to Glan Padidu National High School, where 100 learners from Grades 8 to 12 participated in similar psychosocial activities promoting emotional well-being, stress management, positive coping, and resilience.

The Provincial Government of Sarangani, together with DepEd Sarangani and PHO Sarangani, extended full support to the conduct of the activities at both schools. As part of this support, the Provincial Government provided all meals and snacks distributed during the activities. At San Vicente National High School, these were provided to the 97 participants and an additional 100 learners, while at Glan Padidu National High School, the 100 participants and around 200 other learners also received meals and snacks.

In addition, all 743 learners of Glan Padidu National High School received school supplies, hygiene kits, and tumblers from OND Hesed Foundation, Inc. The assistance aimed to address the learners’ immediate educational and personal needs and help them regain a sense of normalcy following the disasters.

The activities formed part of the Ronda Agila Project’s four-day series of psychosocial and humanitarian interventions in selected schools in Glan, bringing together military, provincial and local government, education, health, social welfare, and humanitarian partners in support of disaster-affected learners.

Through the Ronda Agila Project, JTF AGILA and its partners reaffirmed their shared commitment to supporting children, fostering resilience, and strengthening disaster-affected communities.

GLAN, Sarangani Province – Joint Task Force (JTF) AGILA and the Provincial Government of Sarangani officially kicked off the Ronda Agila Project through a psychosocial intervention program for disaster-affected learners of Hadji Musa Integrated School (HMIS) in Brgy Kapatan, Glan, Sarangani Province, on August 25, 2026.

The activity was conducted by the 1002nd Infantry (BAGWIS) Brigade, 10th Infantry Division, through the 10th Civil-Military Operations (KALINAW) Battalion, Civil-Military Operations Regiment, Philippine Army, with the theme “Nurturing Hope, Building Resilience, Stronger Together.”

The kickoff activity provided a safe and child-friendly environment where learners could process their experiences, express their emotions, and develop positive coping mechanisms following the 7.8-magnitude earthquake and flash flooding that affected communities in the municipality.

A total of 110 learners from Grades 4 to 6 participated in eight healing stations facilitated by the Mental Health Team of Camp Panacan Station Hospital, KALINAW troops, Civil-Military Operations OJT students, and HMIS faculty and staff. The activities promoted emotional expression, stress management, confidence, social connection, and resilience. Each participating learner also received a psychosocial kit to support continued learning, healing, and emotional recovery.

The Provincial Government of Sarangani provided snacks and meals during the activity. Around 100 learners from Kindergarten to Grade 3, although not included in the eight healing stations, also received snacks as part of the humanitarian assistance extended to the school community.

Adding warmth and excitement to the program were the BAGWIS Brigade mascots, of the 39IB and 72IB, who entertained the children and helped create a cheerful and welcoming atmosphere. Their presence brought smiles to the learners and helped make the intervention a positive and memorable experience.

The activity marked the first leg of the project’s four-day series of psychosocial and humanitarian activities in selected schools in Glan, in partnership with the Mental Health Team of Camp Panacan Station Hospital, Department of Education Sarangani, 11th Field Service Support Unit, 73rd Infantry Battalion, Provincial Health Office of Sarangani, OND Hesed Foundation, Inc, Local Government Unit of Glan, and other partner organizations.

Through the Ronda Agila Project, JTF AGILA reaffirmed its commitment to supporting children, fostering resilience, and strengthening disaster-affected communities.

GLAN, Sarangani Province – The 1002nd Infantry (BAGWIS) Brigade, 10th Infantry Division, through the 10th Civil-Military Operations (KALINAW) Battalion, Civil-Military Operations Regiment, Philippine Army, in partnership with other AFP units, Schools Division of Sarangani, Local Government Unit of Glan, Sarangani Province, and Non-Government Organizations conducted Psychological First Aid (PFA) Training for the Facilitators at the Glan School of Arts and Trades at Poblacion, Glan, Sarangani Province, on August 24, 2026.

The activity was facilitated by the Mental Health Team (MHT) from Panacan Station Hospital, which provided lectures and practical training to non-teaching personnel, nurses from DepEd Sarangani, KALINAW troops, Civil-Military Operations OJT participants, and personnel from the 73rd Infantry Battalion to enhance their capability in delivering psychosocial support and appropriate assistance to children and other vulnerable individuals.

The training focused on Basic Psychological First Aid (PFA), Child Protection, Safety Protocols, Group Facilitation, Rotation System, and the Roles and Responsibilities of Facilitators in conducting psychosocial intervention activities. The MHT emphasized the importance of providing immediate, humane, and practical support to individuals experiencing emotional distress brought about by stressful or challenging situations.

Participants were also oriented on child protection principles and safety measures to ensure that interventions are conducted in a safe, organized, and appropriate manner. Discussions on group facilitation and the rotation system highlighted the significance of teamwork, coordination, and effective communication among facilitators in managing activities and assisting affected individuals.

The training serves as a prelude in the conduct of community-based psychosocial support mechanisms, particularly in responding to the emotional and protection needs of children and other vulnerable members of the community.

The activity demonstrated the commitment of the Philippine Army, DepEd Sarangani, and partner stakeholders in enhancing collaboration and building resilient communities through improved psychosocial response capabilities.
