𝐁𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐘 𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐘𝐎 𝐬𝐚 𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐨 𝐎𝐜𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 | DTI-Davao Occidental PMO conducted its 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸𝗹𝘆 𝗠𝗼𝗻𝗶𝘁𝗼𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗼𝗳 𝗕𝗮𝘀𝗶𝗰 𝗡𝗲𝗰𝗲𝘀𝘀𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗣𝗿𝗶𝗺𝗲 𝗖𝗼𝗺𝗺𝗼𝗱𝗶𝘁𝗶𝗲𝘀 (𝗕𝗡𝗣𝗖𝘀) 𝗳𝗿𝗼𝗺 𝗝𝘂𝗻𝗲 𝟭–𝟱, 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲 in the municipality of Malita as part of its continuing efforts to protect consumers and ensure fair trade in the market.

Pursuant to Republic Act No. 7581 or the Price Act, the monitoring covers essential goods such as canned goods, processed milk, coffee, bread, cooking oil, laundry products, condiments, toiletries, and batteries.

Based on the monitoring conducted during the first week of June, prices of BNPCs remain generally stable, with sufficient supply available in the market. No significant price increases, hoarding, or profiteering incidents were observed.

DTI Davao Occidental will continue its regular monitoring activities to ensure compliance with Suggested Retail Prices (SRPs) and safeguard consumer welfare throughout the province.

Meanwhile, gasoline, diesel, and other petroleum products fall under the jurisdiction of the Department of Energy (DOE).

𝐀𝐂𝐓𝐈𝐕𝐈𝐓𝐘 𝐇𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐋𝐈𝐆𝐇𝐓𝐒 | Banana Cardava Production Technology Training 🌱

A total of 128 Banana Farmer Beneficiaries from KIFA Marketing Cooperative (KIFA) and Malaway Farmers Marketing Cooperative (MAFAMCO) successfully completed the Training on Banana Cardava Production Technology held on April 29–30, May 6–7, and May 13–14, 2026.

The training focused on key modules on 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐝𝐚𝐯𝐚 𝐏𝐥𝐚𝐧𝐭 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐅𝐫𝐮𝐢𝐭 𝐂𝐚𝐫𝐞, 𝐏𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐃𝐢𝐬𝐞𝐚𝐬𝐞𝐬 𝐌𝐚𝐧𝐚𝐠𝐞𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭, and 𝐏𝐨𝐬𝐭-𝐇𝐚𝐫𝐯𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐇𝐚𝐧𝐝𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐜𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐠.

Through lectures, hands-on demonstrations, field activities, and knowledge-sharing sessions, the participants gained practical skills and deeper understanding of improved banana production practices, disease prevention and management, and value-adding techniques aimed at enhancing product quality and income opportunities.

A step forward in strengthening the banana industry and empowering our local farmers.

𝐁𝐀𝐍𝐓𝐀𝐘 𝐏𝐑𝐄𝐒𝐘𝐎 𝐬𝐚 𝐃𝐚𝐯𝐚𝐨 𝐎𝐜𝐜𝐢𝐝𝐞𝐧𝐭𝐚𝐥 | DTI Davao Occidental conducted its Weekly Monitoring of Basic Necessities and Prime Commodities (BNPCs) for May 25–29, 2026 in the province’s center municipality of Malita, pursuant to Executive Order No. 110 declaring a State of National Energy Emergency.

Under Republic Act No. 7581 or the Price Act, the monitoring covers essential goods classified as Basic Necessities and Prime Commodities (BNPCs), including canned goods, processed milk, coffee, bread, cooking oil, laundry products, condiments, toiletries, and batteries.

The activity aims to ensure the continuous availability of essential goods in the market and monitor compliance with Suggested Retail Prices (SRPs), proper product labeling, and fair-trade practices.

Based on the latest monitoring conducted in Malita, prices of BNPCs remain generally stable with sufficient supply available in the market. No significant price increases, profiteering, or hoarding incidents were observed during the monitoring period.

DTI Davao Occidental reminds retailers to comply with prevailing SRPs and encourages consumers to remain vigilant and report any possible violations or overpricing to the nearest DTI office.
