73IB Supports Brigada Eskwela 2026, Assists 43 Schools Across Davao Occidental and Sarangani

IN ACTION | The 73rd Infantry (Neutralizer) Battalion, 10th Infantry Division, Philippine Army actively participated in the conduct of Brigada Eskwela 2026 with the theme, “Bayanihan sa Paaralan: Nagkakaisa Para sa Kaayusan at Kaalaman,” spearheaded by the Department of Education (DepEd) in partnership with various government agencies, stakeholders, and community members across Davao Occidental and Sarangani Province.

The initiative aims to strengthen community involvement in the education sector through volunteerism and partnership by preparing school facilities and learning environments for the opening of classes. As part of its commitment to nation-building, 73IB personnel rendered manpower assistance, conducted clean-up activities, repaired school facilities, and supported other preparatory efforts in schools within its area of operation.

As of June 04, 2026, the 73IB has assisted forthy-three (43) schools during the Brigada Eskwela Kick-Off activities, including several schools in geographically isolated and disadvantaged areas (GIDAs). Among the highlights was the groundbreaking ceremony for the MPNHS–Bito Extension in Malita, Davao Occidental, reflecting the collective commitment of stakeholders to improve school facilities and promote a safe and conducive learning environment for students.

The 73IB active participation in Brigada Eskwela reflects its unwavering support for initiatives that contribute to the welfare and future success of Filipino learners.

73IB Supports Youth Festival 2026 in Alabel, Sarangani

IN ACTION | The 73rd Infantry (Neutralizer) Battalion, 10th Infantry Division, Philippine Army, supported the conduct of the "Youth Festival 2026: Bring a Smile to Every Barangay, Empowering Every Youth" Outreach Program held at Barangay New Canaan, Alabel, Sarangani Province on May 30, 2026.

The activity aimed to promote youth development, volunteerism, and community engagement among the young people of Alabel.

As part of its support, 73IB provided transportation and security assistance ensuring the safe and orderly conduct of the activity. The battalion also conducted an information awareness campaign, highlighting the role of the youth as responsible future leaders and partners in nation-building.

The 73IB remains committed to supporting programs that empower the youth, strengthen community partnerships, and promote lasting peace, progress, and development in Sarangani Province.

Philippine, Malaysian Armies Launch TA LAND MALPHI 24/2026 AT 10ID

MAWAB, Davao de Oro – The Philippine Army, through the 10th Infantry (Agila) Division, and the Malaysian Army formally launched the Training Activity (TA) LAND MALPHI 24/2026 during an opening ceremony presided over by Brigadier General Eufracio Joel Malig, Assistant Division Commander of the 10th Infantry (Agila) Division, at Headquarters, 10ID, Camp General Manuel T. Yan Sr., Brgy. Tuboran, Mawab, Davao de Oro, on June 1, 2026.

The 12-day bilateral exercise, scheduled from June 1 to 12, aims to strengthen defense cooperation, enhance interoperability, and improve battle staff planning capabilities through the exchange of best practices and operational experiences in territorial defense and security operations.

The activity features cross-training, tabletop exercises, and command post exercises designed to enhance combined operational effectiveness, strengthen professional competencies, and further deepen military-to-military relations between the Philippine and Malaysian armies.

The Malaysian Army delegation paid a courtesy call on Major General Alvin V. Luzon, Commander of the 10th Infantry (Agila) Division, highlighting the strong military-to-military ties and mutual commitment of both armies to strengthening defense cooperation.

A symbolic donning of caps and armbands highlighted the opening ceremony, signifying unity, operational readiness, and the enduring partnership among the participating forces.

Major General Luzon underscored the significance of the exercise, stating, “TA LAND MALPHI demonstrates our shared commitment to strengthening defense cooperation, enhancing interoperability, and building mutual trust among partner armed forces. Through engagements such as this, we develop capable and adaptive forces that contribute to territorial defense, regional security, and lasting stability in our region.”

TA LAND MALPHI serves as a vital platform for fostering mutual understanding, strengthening professional military relationships, and enhancing the collective readiness of both armies to address shared security challenges and contribute to peace and stability in the region.

PCG Spokesperson for the West Philippine Sea, Rear Admiral Jay Tarriela responded to the question, “Where does the Philippines stand now in the fight for the West Philippine Sea?”

He stated that the situation in the 𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐚 has reached a critical stage. According to him, the struggle is no longer confined to the waters themselves but has also expanded into the 𝐡𝐞𝐚𝐫𝐭𝐬 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐝𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐅𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐨𝐬, amid the growing spread of disinformation and propaganda.

He called for 𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐢𝐧 𝐮𝐩𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐝𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐭𝐫𝐮𝐭𝐡 and emphasized the importance of remaining vigilant, informed, and aware. He encouraged every Filipino to strengthen public 𝐚𝐰𝐚𝐫𝐞𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 and 𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐭𝐨𝐠𝐞𝐭𝐡𝐞𝐫 in defending the country's sovereign rights, national dignity, and interests in the 𝐖𝐞𝐬𝐭 𝐏𝐡𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐩𝐩𝐢𝐧𝐞 𝐒𝐞𝐚.
