In celebration of Drug Abuse Prevention and Control (DAPC) Week 2025, the Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) shares the Panata ng Paninindigan Para sa Ligtas at Malusog na Pamayanan as a guide for collective action among institutions, communities, and citizens.
This pledge serves as a reminder that promoting health, safety, and well-being is a shared responsibility. Amid challenges faced by families and communities, it reinforces our common goal—to build caring, disciplined, informed, and empowered communities that choose safer and more humane paths.

We encourage local government units, schools, organizations, and youth groups to use this pledge in their activities for DAPC Week 2025. May it strengthen preventive education, youth protection, and community development.

CSOs Elect Representatives to Local Special Bodies

Pursuant to DILG MC 2025-060 and anchored on the promotion of inclusive and participatory governance, civil society organizations (CSOs) elected their representatives to the Local Special Bodies (LSBs) of the municipality of Malinao.

The selection process was spearheaded by the Department of the Interior and Local Government (DILG), through Municipal Local Government Operations Officer (MLGOO) Racefin O. Suco in partnership with Mrs. Wendy Joy I. Camacho, designated CSO Desk Officer.

Hon. Gregorio V. Imperial Jr. and Hon. Raul I. Quinisio, Sangguniang Bayan Member and Chair of the Committee on CSOs, POs, and NGOs, welcomed the attendees and expressed appreciation for their active involvement. Vice Mayor Hon. Wilbert Ariel Igoy also extended his gratitude to the participating organizations and emphasized the critical role of CSOs in fostering inclusive and meaningful local governance.

MLGOO Suco provided an overview of the activity and outlined the selection process. This was followed by an orientation on the different LSBs—their legal foundations, composition, and functions—delivered by Mrs. Camacho and supported by informational video presentations.

The CSOs elected more than the required minimum number of representatives to the LSBs and Sectoral Committees. In addition, they selected their members for the Project Monitoring Committee and designated CSO observers for the Bids and Awards Committee during procurement activities.

The results of the election shall be the basis of Mayor Josephine I. Iquiña in reorganizing the said LSBs thru an Executive Order with the selected CSOs as among the members thereof.

The DILG Malinao Municipal Field Office is inviting all CY 2025 SB - accredited CSOs in Malinao to the meeting on the selection of representatives to the Local Development Council, Local Health Board, Local School Board and Local Peace and Order Council which will be held on September 22, 2025 at 9:00AM at SB Session Hall, 2nd floor Municipal Annex Building, Poblacion Malinao Aklan.

As of 8:46AM, of July 18, 2025, The Province of Aklan is already on RED Alert Status based on DOST-PAGASA Heavy Rainfall Advisory wherein serious flooding is expected. We advise everyone to prepare for possible evacuation especially on residents living near Aklan River, riverbanks, and flood prone barangays . Keep safe everyone and God bless.

MAKARON | DILG-Aklan Conducts Orientation and Simulation on KP Watch and KP Files Documentation

DILG-Aklan conducted an orientation and simulation activity on the Katarungang Pambarangay Watch (KP Watch) and Katarungang Pambarangay Files Documentation held at DILG-Aklan Provincial Office, Estancia, Kalibo, Aklan.

KP Watch is a monitoring mechanism developed by DILG-Aklan through the Aklan Provincial Local Governance Resource Center (APLGRC) under its “Paghutuhot” Program, as one of its digital breakthroughs that aide efficient service delivery in local governments.

The participants of the activity were the Lupon Secretaries of possible provincial nominees in Aklan in the ensuing LTIA assessment year including: Brgy. Mabilo, Kalibo; Brgy. Guinbaliwan, New Washington; Brgy. Lilo-an, Malinao; and Brgy. Bel-is, Buruanga. Along with the Barangay Secretaries were their respective MLGOOs, who assisted them during the simulation activities.

Also present in the activity were DILG-Aklan Provincial Director Dino A. Ponsaran, CESO V, Cluster Head Susan M. Balsamo, Program Manager Valerie S. Briones, and LTIA Provincial Focal Persons.

A roll out of the KP Watch shall be subsequently conducted for all the other barangays in Aklan sometime in June.
