A coordination meeting was conducted by the Philippine Coast Guard (PCG) with sir Arjay Ceneta the acting commander coastguard K9 Tabaco and Dra LT IOLANI TAYNAN, DVM, in preparation for the forthcoming Farmers and Fisherfolk Celebration. The meeting focused on the planned simultaneous coastal clean-up activity and the technical assistance that the PCG and partner agencies will provide during the dogs and cats castration activity scheduled on July 23, 2026.

The meeting served to discuss the roles and responsibilities of participating agencies, coordinate logistical requirements, and ensure the smooth and successful implementation of the activities as part of the celebration.

Mass Turnover of Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) – Irrigation Component Projects

The National Irrigation Administration (NIA), in partnership with the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR), successfully conducted the mass turnover of the Comprehensive Agrarian Reform Program (CARP) – Irrigation Component Projects in Albay.

Among the projects turned-over were two (2) irrigation projects in the municipality of Malinao, officialy entrusted to the Burabod-Jonop Irrigators Association and the Estancia-Labnig Irrigators Association. With a total project cost of ₱33 million, the rehabilitation of these irrigation systems are expected to benefit nearly 572 farmers, providing them with a more reliable and efficient water supply to support agricultural production.

The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Malinao, under the leadership of Mayor Sheryl Capus-Bilo , together with the Sangguniang Bayan members and the farmer-beneficiaries, expressed their sincere gratitude to the National Irrigation Administration (NIA) and the Department of Agrarian Reform (DAR) for this significant initiative.

The completion and turnover of these irrigation projects are expected to enhance farm productivity, increase farmers' yield and income, and contribute to the long-term goal of ensuring food security and sustainable agricultural development in the municipality.

Alongside with the turn-over activity, the Groundbreaking Ceremony for the ACIMO Building was also held.

LAUNCHING OF AGRISENSO Plus Lending Program of the Land Bank of the Philippines (LBP)

The AGRISENSO Plus Lending Program is a financing initiative of the Land Bank of the Philippines that aims to provide accessible, adequate, affordable, and timely credit assistance.

The program supports agricultural production, livestock, fisheries, machinery acquisition, post-harvest facilities, working capital, and other value chain activities to improve agricultural productivity and food security.

We sincerely thank the Land Bank of the Philippines for launching this program and extending loan assistance to RSBSA-registered farmers and fisherfolk in Albay.

To all program beneficiaries particularly from Malinao, Albay, we look forward to the successful implementation of your agricultural projects. We encourage everyone to utilize the loan responsibly and strive for 100% loan repayment, making it easier and faster to qualify for the next cycle of the program and ensuring that more farmers and fisherfolk can benefit from this opportunity in the future.
