🌋 ADVISORY FOR COCONUT AND ABACA FARMERS 🌴🌾
Mayon Volcano Unrest

Due to the ongoing unrest of Mayon Volcano, coconut and abaca farmers are advised to take precautionary measures to protect crops and ensure safety.

Possible Effects:
• Ashfall may block leaves and reduce plant growth
• Heavy ash can damage abaca leaves and stalks
• Volcanic gases may weaken coconut trees
• Crop yield may decrease if unmanaged

Safety Reminders:
✔ Avoid farm work during heavy ashfall
✔ Wear masks and eye protection
✔ Follow advisories from PHIVOLCS and LGUs
✔️If your crops are affected by ash fall, please report it @ LGU-Oma Malilipot Office specially if your farms are registered and you had availed free insurance from the Philippine Crop Insurance Corporation (PCIC).

Farmers (44) were awarded with P15,000 cash thru cash cards from Landbank of the Philippines as aid of the department to marginal farmers who are primarily affected by the sudden drop of palay price due to Rice Tarrification Law. Also 1 unit tractor was awarded to Sta. Teresa-San Francisco Irrigator's Association, Inc. MLGU Malilipot is also a recipient of Palay RegisteredSeeds and Vegetable seeds.
