[๐‹๐Ž๐Ž๐Š] The City Mayor's Office through its Community Affairs Division, in partnership with City ENRO and the CDRRMO, successfully conducted the "Tree Growing Activity Scholars for Nature" today with the theme "Plant Today, Save Tomorrow".

This event held at the Malaybalay City Forest Park, Barangay San Jose, brought together scholar students from all college levels under the Malaybalay City Scholarship Program to support reforestation efforts by planting Bamboo grasses fostering a culture of environmental stewardship among its younger generation. This initiative also aligns with the City ENRO's "I Love Malaybalay Tree City" project, which encourages residents to plant more trees for a greener, more sustainable Malaybalay City.

[๐‹๐Ž๐Ž๐Š] The City Environment and Natural Resources (ENR) Office successfully lead the SAKA (Saving and Keeping Alive) Caul-Mansikol Creek Program Clean-Up Activity. This event marks the second monthly clean-up activity for Caul-Mansikol Creek this year. This initiative aims to adopt and rehabilitate Caul-Mansikol Creek, a crucial residential waterway in Malaybalay City that has faced ecological degradation over the years. With this program, the City ENR Office seeks to promote sustainable community engagement in maintaining and protecting the creekโ€™s ecosystem.

The cleanup was strategically organized into eight stations, covering areas from the upstream to downstream sections of the creek, allowing for a thorough and efficient approach. Various groups, including Malaybalay City local government departments/offices, non-governmental organizations (NGOs), and civil society organizations (CSOs), collaborated in this activity, showcasing the broad community support for environmental action. Participants engaged in tasks such as waste collection and debris removal to help restore the creek's natural flow and improve its water quality.

The continued efforts of the SAKA program highlight the importance of sustained action in environmental restoration of our waterbodies and the value of local participation. This collective effort also reflects a shared dedication to safeguarding this waterway for future generations. Thus, the City ENR Office plans to continue this momentum by further involving the community and enhancing public awareness on creek conservation. Through initiatives like this, the city aims to foster a cleaner, healthier environment, aligning with both local and global sustainability goals.
