The Philippines gets another global nod as White Beach in Boracay, Panay Island lands at No. 6 in Tripadvisor's Best of the Best Beaches in Asia, reinforcing the country's status as a world-class tropical destination.

The Travelers’ Choice Awards Best of the Best title is awarded to destinations that receive a high volume of outstanding reviews and ratings from the Tripadvisor community over a 12-month period, placing them among the top one percent of listings worldwide.

Recognized for its powdery shoreline and vibrant coastal scene, White Beach stands out as Boracay’s most iconic stretch. In its citation, Tripadvisor described the destination as a beach that “draws a crowd for good reasons: soft white sand, turquoise waters, and amazing sunsets. It's a great place to swim and snorkel, and when you've worked up an appetite, lots of local dining and drinking joints are just steps away.”

Department of Tourism (DOT) Secretary Christina Garcia Frasco celebrates the recognition that affirms Boracay’s global appeal while citing its deeper significance to the lives supported by tourism.

“More than the recognition, what truly matters are the lives sustained through tourism. Behind every award are thousands of Filipino workers—our boatmen, hotel staff, tour guides, transport operators, and micro, small, and medium entrepreneurs, whose livelihoods depend on a thriving and sustainable tourism industry,” the Tourism Chief said.

Stretching approximately four kilometers along Boracay’s western coast, White Beach is divided into Stations 1, 2, and 3, each catering to different market segments, from luxury and leisure travelers to families and backpackers. The beach remains the centerpiece of Boracay’s tourism economy, drawing visitors for swimming, snorkeling, island-hopping, and other water activities.

Despite growing competition, Boracay's enduring allure continues to shine as it maintains its status as one of Asia's "Best of the Best Beaches," according to leading travel website Tripadvisor. The iconic White Beach secured a spot on the prestigious 2026 list, confirming its position as a top-tier destination in the region.

In TripAdvisor's Traveler's Choice Awards, White Beach ranked 6th overall, making it the sole Philippine beach to be included in this year's list. This recognition underscores Boracay's enduring appeal and its status as a premier destination in Southeast Asia.

"Boracay's most popular beach draws a crowd for good reasons: soft white sand, turquoise waters, and amazing sunsets," TripAdvisor described White Beach, highlighting the key features that attract visitors from around the globe.

This accolade follows Boracay's previous success in the Traveler's Choice Awards. In 2025, the island secured the 4th position as one of the "Best of the Best Beaches in Asia," demonstrating a consistent track record of excellence.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 || 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐜𝐞𝐩𝐭𝐮𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐳𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝟏𝐬𝐭 𝐅𝐢𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐅𝐞𝐬𝐭𝐢𝐯𝐚𝐥 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔

A productive Conceptualization Meeting was held on February 15, 2026 at Paradise Garden Resort, bringing together key officials and partner agencies in preparation for the upcoming 1st Fishing Festival 2026.

The meeting was presided over by Hon. Frolibar S. Bautista, Municipal Mayor of Malay, with the active participation of PLTCOL ALAIN TERENCE L LICDAN, COP Malay MPS, alongside representatives from the Department of Tourism, MDRRMO Malay, Philippine Coast Guard, PNP Maritime Group, Bureau of Fire Protection, MAP, and other concerned agencies.

Discussions focused on strengthening inter-agency coordination and finalizing strategic plans to ensure a safe, orderly, and successful festival. Key areas covered included security deployment, maritime and water safety protocols, traffic management schemes, fire safety preparedness, emergency response operations, and crowd control measures.

The collaborative effort underscores the unified commitment of all stakeholders to uphold public safety, maintain peace and order, and provide both residents and visitors with a festive yet secure celebration.

With teamwork and proactive planning, the 1st Fishing Festival 2026 is set to be both vibrant and safe for all.
