In tribute to the remarkable contributions, achievements, resilience, and enduring strength of women, the District of Malay proudly celebrates the 2026 National Women’s Month with the theme “We for Gender Equality and Inclusive Society” and the inspiring sub-theme “Lead Like the Babaylans, Filipinas!” held at Boracay National High School, Balabag, Malay, Aklan.

This meaningful celebration highlights the vital role of women in shaping our communities and recognizes their unwavering commitment to leadership, service, and empowerment. Guided by the spirit of the Babaylans—the revered women leaders and healers of our ancestors—this event encourages today’s Filipinas to lead with courage, wisdom, compassion, and strength.

The activity also serves as a valuable platform to share best practices, exchange ideas, and address existing gaps and challenges in the continuous pursuit of Gender and Development (GAD). Through collaborative dialogue and engagement, participants are encouraged to strengthen commitments that promote equality, inclusivity, and respect for all.

More importantly, this celebration seeks to inspire women and girls to believe in their potential, embrace leadership opportunities, and actively participate in building communities where everyone is empowered. By promoting gender-responsive initiatives and inclusive spaces, we reaffirm our commitment to ensuring that women and girls can fully enjoy the opportunities, rights, and benefits that lead to personal growth and community progress.

Thank you, Mam Analyn Oczon Zamudio for your well-journeyed life sharing your time, efforts, resources and wisdom to Malaynon children and the community. Your great memories will remain in our hearts! May you rest in eternal peace!

The Nabaoy Elementary School family mourns the passing of Mam Analyn O. Zamudio, a teacher who devoted almost four decades of her life to education and service to the community.

Mam Analyn was known for her discipline and firm guidance toward her learners. She believed that shaping young minds required commitment, structure, and care. Through the years, she helped guide students not only in their studies but also in becoming responsible members of the community. Her presence, dedication, and years of service became part of the story of Nabaoy Elementary School.

The lessons she shared and the lives she touched will continue to live on in the hearts of her students, colleagues, and the community she served.

The Nabaoy Elementary School family extends its heartfelt prayers and sympathy to her family and loved ones.

Malay District is honored to be chosen as the official training venue for the Aklan Athletic Delegation in preparation for the upcoming WVRAA. This opportunity reflects the district’s strong commitment to supporting sports development and providing a conducive environment where our athletes can train, prepare, and enhance their skills.

As the athletes continue their training, the district proudly stands behind them and wishes them success as they represent the Province of Aklan in the forthcoming competition.

Our heartfelt gratitude to our very supportive Municipal Mayor, Hon. Frolibar S. Bautista, for his unwavering support in making this training possible. We also extend our sincere thanks to all Malaynons for their cooperation and understanding in following the reserved schedules for our athletes.

In connection with this, the training of our athletes will extend until March 11, 2026.

Let us continue to support and encourage our athletes as they aim for excellence and strive to bring home the championship in WVRAA 2026.

The District of Malay proudly celebrates the successful conduct of the Division Monitoring and Technical Assistance (MTA) in the Implementation of 2026 BERF and NON-BERF Funded Research, led by our dedicated District Research and Innovation Coordinators — Sir Mark Arvin L. Rebaldo (Secondary Level) and Ma’am Nina Krishna C. Gumboc (Elementary Level).

Your exemplary leadership, unwavering dedication, and steadfast commitment to academic excellence continue to strengthen our district’s culture of research and innovation. Because of your guidance, we move forward with clearer direction, stronger collaboration, and a renewed sense of purpose. 👏✨

This initiative empowers our teacher-researchers and innovators by equipping them with the technical guidance and mentorship necessary to transform both BERF and NON-BERF research into meaningful, evidence-based, and sustainable educational outcomes.

Through hands-on technical assistance and focused mentoring, we continue to elevate competencies in developing high-quality action and basic research, strengthen expertise in implementation, monitoring, and documentation, enhance the presentation and scalability of impactful innovations, and promote professionalism, accountability, and research excellence across all schools.

We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Mikko Jan D. The Malay District successfully conducted the Meeting of School Heads and Administrative Officers serving as District Sub-Committees in preparation for the upcoming Recruitment and Selection of Applicants for the Division Comparative Assessment Result – Registry of Qualified Applicants (CAR-RQA) for Kindergarten to Grade 12 Teacher I positions for School Year 2026–2027.

The activity was spearheaded by our Principal-In-Charge, Sir Democrito V. Barrientos II, whose leadership emphasized transparency, fairness, and strict adherence to established recruitment guidelines and policies. He underscored the importance of maintaining integrity throughout the evaluation and selection process to ensure that only qualified, competent, and deserving applicants are included in the Registry of Qualified Applicants.

During the meeting, key procedures and standards for screening, evaluation, and documentation were thoroughly discussed. Ma’am Angel Laila G. Samson, Administrative Officer II, provided a comprehensive and detailed presentation on the proper procedures in evaluating applicants. She elaborated on the criteria, rating system, documentary requirements, and step-by-step process of assessment to ensure uniformity and objectivity among the District Sub-Committees. Her discussion reinforced the importance of accuracy in scoring, proper documentation, and compliance with Division and DepEd regulations.

The roles and responsibilities of the District Sub-Committees were likewise clearly defined to guarantee a systematic, objective, and merit-based assessment of applicants. Committee members were oriented on timelines, required documents, rating sheets, and the proper consolidation and submission of results.

In the afternoon, an in-depth Orientation for Teacher I applicants was conducted to ensure that all candidates were fully informed of the recruitment process, requirements, criteria, and expectations. The orientation was comprehensively facilitated by Ma’am Angel Laila G. Samson, Administrative Officer II, and Sir Bryan Ray S. Solano, Master Teacher II. They provided comprehensive explanations on the documentary requirements, evaluation components, demonstration teaching procedures, accomplishment of the Teacher’s Reflection Form, and corresponding points system under the CAR-RQA guidelines

The activity served as an avenue to promote clarity, accountability, and preparedness among both committee members and applicants. Through this initiative, Malay District reaffirms its commitment to upholding quality standards in the recruitment and selection process, ensuring that highly qualified educators will serve the learners for School Year 2026–2027.

𝗘𝗮𝗿𝗹𝘆 𝗥𝗲𝗴𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗦𝗬 𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟲–𝟮𝟬𝟮𝟳

The 𝗗𝗶𝘀𝘁𝗿𝗶𝗰𝘁 𝗼𝗳 𝗠𝗮𝗹𝗮𝘆 officially launched the Early Registration for School Year 2026–2027, marking the start of a coordinated effort to ensure that all learners are enrolled and prepared for the upcoming academic year. Public schools across the district actively participated in the program, with teachers, school staff, and administrative personnel working together to facilitate a smooth and organized registration process.

The activity was highlighted by the visit of Sir Democrito V. Barrientos II, Principal-In-Charge of the District, whose presence underscored the district’s commitment to inclusive, efficient, and learner-centered registration. While providing guidance and encouragement, Sir Barrientos emphasized the importance of early registration in accurate learner mapping, strategic resource planning, and school readiness for SY 2026–2027.

Day 1 of early registration demonstrated the collective dedication of the district’s schools and personnel in ensuring that no learner is left behind. District School Head Consultation Sets Direction for Calendar Year 2026

The district conducted a School Head Consultation for Calendar Year 2026 to align plans, programs, and priorities that will strengthen the delivery of basic education across all schools.

Democrito V. Barrientos, Principal-In-Charge of the district, led the consultation and emphasized collaborative planning, timely implementation of programs, and shared accountability among school heads. He highlighted that unified and early preparation will ensure that district initiatives directly address learners’ needs and support national education goals.

School heads discussed the proposed academic calendar, priority projects, resource allocation, and strategies to improve school performance indicators for 2026. They also raised operational concerns and shared best practices to guide district-wide decisions.

The consultation encouraged open dialogue, allowed participants to clarify policies, exchange insights, and propose concrete actions to enhance instruction, governance, and community engagement.

The district reaffirmed its commitment to continuous consultation and coordinated action as it prepares for Calendar Year 2026.

LGU Malay Redeploys Non-Teaching Personnel, Reaffirms Decade-Long Priority on Education

MALAY, AKLAN — The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Malay, through the Local School Board (LSB), deployed non-teaching personnel to their respective public schools as part of the priority allocation under the 2026 Special Education Fund (SEF, reinforcing its long-standing commitment to education. For more than a decade, LGU Malay has consistently prioritized education support above all other local initiatives, ensuring schools receive sustained manpower and resources.

The LSB conducted an orientation program to prepare the newly hired job order personnel for their assignments. Democrito V. Barrientos II, LSB Co-Chairperson, led the activity alongside Bryan Ray S. Solano, LSB Secretary, and Jake S. Sullano, LSB Board Member and Committee Chair on Non-Teaching Personnel.

During the orientation, Mr. Dos Barrientos emphasized integrity in public service and framed his message through the mnemonic D.O.S.—Diligent, Optimistic, and Sustainability—as core values expected from the personnel in the performance of their duties.

Mr. Bryan Ray Siñel Solano discussed the duties and functions of job order employees, including the terms of their contracts, the no work, no pay policy, and the ethical standards required of all personnel serving in public schools.

In his closing remarks, Mr Jake Sullano stressed that integrity at work remains the foundation of effective service delivery and public trust.

After the orientation, the non-teaching job order employees signed their contracts, officially marking the start of their deployment to schools across the municipality.

School officials and beneficiaries expressed their appreciation to Fromy S. Bautista Honorable Mayor of Malay, for his steadfast educational leadership and for sustaining, over the past decade, LGU Malay’s policy of placing education support at the forefront of local governance.
