Municipal Persons with Disability Affairs Office Malay, Aklan The MPDAO of Malay, Aklan advocates for the rights and inclusion of persons with disabilities (PWDs).

We provide support services and work to ensure an accessible, empowering environment for all PWDs in our community. The Municipal Persons with Disability Affairs Office (MPDAO) of Malay, Aklan is tasked with ensuring the full implementation and enforcement of Republic Act 10070, which mandates the establishment of local government offices responsible for the protection and promotion of the rights

and welfare of persons with disabilities (PWDs). The MPDAO is mandated to formulate and implement programs and services that address the unique needs and concerns of PWDs in the municipality.

๐ŸŒธ 22nd Women with Disabilities Day Celebration ๐ŸŒธ

The Local Government Unit of Malay, through the Municipal Persons with Disability Affairs Office (MPDAO), successfully celebrated the 22nd Women with Disabilities Day on March 30, 2026, with the theme:

โ€œLandas ng Makabagong Babaylan: Pantay, Inklusibo, at Lahat May Kakayahan.โ€

We extend our heartfelt gratitude and special mention to the following for their support and inspiring messages:

โœจ Hon. Frolibar S. Bautista, CPA โ€“ Municipal Mayor, for his continued support to programs for persons with disabilities and women empowerment.
โœจ Ms. Jerre Mae B. Prado, RSW โ€“ MSWDO Officer, for her support and message of encouragement to women with disabilities.
โœจ PCPL Lovellawil B. Degollado โ€“ Guest Speaker from the Women and Children Protection Desk (WCPD), for the informative discussion on R.A. 9262 or the VAWC Law.

The activity was successfully conducted with 30 women with disabilities participants who actively joined the discussion, Zumba, and awarding activities.

We also thank all participants, partners, and the PWD Federation for making this celebration meaningful and successful.

Home Visitation for Persons with Disability ๐Ÿค๐Ÿ’™

The PDAO Malay and MSWDO Malay conducted a home visitation for Persons with Disability members as part of their continued commitment to deliver essential services directly to the community. This activity primarily aims to address medical concerns and personally visit members to ensure that their health conditions and needs are properly assessed and attended to.

Through this initiative, services are brought closer to those who need them most, demonstrating compassion, care, and inclusivity in public service.

In celebration of the 22nd Women with Disability Day, the Municipal Persons with Disability Affairs Office (MPDAO) of Malay proudly launches the Search for Outstanding Women with Disabilities Recognition Award.

This recognition aims to honor inspiring women with disabilities who have demonstrated exceptional achievements, leadership, resilience, and meaningful contributions to the community.

โœจ We are looking for nominees who:
โœ”๏ธ Are women with disabilities residing in the Municipality of Malay
โœ”๏ธ Have made significant contributions in community service, livelihood, leadership, education, sports, arts, advocacy, or other fields
โœ”๏ธ Serve as positive role models and inspire others through their determination and accomplishments

2nd Batch Follow-Up Check for Children with Disabilities.

On January 4, 2026, the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Malay, under the leadership of Mayor Frolibar S. Bautista, successfully conducted the 2nd Batch Follow-Up Check for 14 children with disabilities at the Asia Pacific Medical Center, Kalibo, Aklan.

This event was made possible through the tireless efforts of the Municipal Persons with Disability Affairs Office (MPDAO) led by Mr. Jeecee V. Maming, in collaboration with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) headed by Ms. Jerre Mae B. Prado,RSW. The program focused on providing essential pediatric neurology consultations to ensure continuous medical care and support for the children.

We express our deepest appreciation to Dr. Ariel C. Rabanes, MD, Child Neurologist, for his invaluable expertise and compassionate care, as well as to the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (MDRRMO) for their vehicle support, which was crucial to the success of this initiative.

This collaborative effort highlights the LGU of Malayโ€™s commitment to improving the well-being of all children, particularly those with disabilities. Together, we continue to build a more inclusive and accessible community.
