Poblacion, Malapatanโ€”The Bureau of Jail Management and Penology (BJMP) Malapatan District Jail joined the celebration of National Correctional Consciousness Week (NACOCOW) 2022. Starting from the 24th of October, with the guidance of the Jail Warden, Jail Inspector Reynante P Dela Cruz, the three Unit and Welfare Development Officerโ€”JO1 Manipon, JO1 Legara, and JO1 Zaulda facilitated the opening salvo of this celebration, with the theme โ€œMataas na Kalidad ng Serbisyong Pampiitan, Pagbabago ng PDL Tiyak Makakamtan.โ€

In his speech, the Jail Warden highlighted the programs and services that the Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) could enjoy, from cultural programs such as larong pinoy, chess, damath competition, basketball tournament, feeding program, distribution of hygienic kits, availing of medical services, and the like.

It is imperative that you (PDL) will actively participate in this activity since this government program is solely made for you, an indicator that the government is serious about the implementation of your welfare and development.

Pinoy henyo, sack race, and trip to Jerusalem were enjoyed by the PDL during the kick-off celebration.

Poblacion, Malapatanโ€”Sarangani, Province, 19 Persons Deprived of Liberty (PDL) of Malapatan District Jail finished the short-term course program of Basic Wiring Installation and Solar Panel Installation offered by the Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) of Provincial Training Center (PTC)-Malapatan today at 3:30 PM.

With six (6) sessions, these 19 PDL finished the course without any alteration. The same enthusiasm and willingness they showed during the first session became even more intensive today as they received their training certificates.

Under the dynamic initiative of Jail Inspector Reynante P Dela Cruz, Jail Warden, and the exceptional support of Hernane T. Ferro, the Center Administrator of PTC-Malapatan, the said program turned into a reality.

โ€œThis might be the end of your training sessions, but through this, more skills training opportunities will be unlocked as we continue to extend our programs and services to you, the clientele of the BJMP,โ€ the Center Administrator uttered as he gave his speech.

In his speech, the Jail Warden expressed his warmest gratitude to the TESDA Personnel, especially to the Center Administrator, for giving the BJMP Malapatan District Jail his utmost support despite his hectic schedule.

September 26, 2022 is the celebration of World Environmental Health Day. Environmental Health plays a pivotal role in the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) as a universal call to action to end poverty, protect the planet, and ensure that by 2030 all people enjoy peace and prosperity now and in the future.
The 17 SDGs are integrated - they recognize that action in one area will affect outcomes in others, and that development must balance social, economic, and environmental sustainability, all while tackling climate change and working to preserve our oceans and forests.

In line with Presidential Proclamation 595, Series of 2018 declaring every September 26 as the World Environmental Health Day (WEHD) in the Philippines, the Department of Health (DOH) and the Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) lead the observance of WEHD nationwide for us to work together to protect environmental health. People must practice solid waste management, proper water and sanitation and hygiene, and other environmental good practices to strengthen the resilience of societies.

Safeguarding environmental health necessitates a whole-of-government, whole-of-society approach in strengthening environmental health systems for the implementation of the SDGs.
Many activities are taking place around the Globe in connection to this big event. Let us be part of the solution to improve Environmental Health.

NTF-ELCAC Statement on the dismissal of the Proscription Petition by RTC Branch 19 of Manila

The court decision dismissing the proscription petition filed by the DOJ under the Human Security Act of 2007 is a minor setback that will not diminish nor undermine the campaign of the government to put an end to the CPP-NPA-NDF terrorist organization.

Ang NTF-ELCAC ay hindi susuko sa pagsugpo ng terrorismo at ilalaban ang kapakanan ng mga Pilipino para makamtan ang ganap na kapayapaan at pagkakaisa. The NTF ELCAC will continue to be vigilant in its Whole of Nationโ€™s campaign until the local communist armed conflict in the Philippines will come to its end.
