PHIVOLCS CONDUCTS FIELD INSPECTION IN MALABANG

The Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS) conducted a field inspection in Brgy. Bunkhouse and Brgy. Sumbagarogong, Malabang, Lanao del Sur, to assess the sudden rise in sea water observed following the strong earthquake that occurred last June.

During the inspection, the PHIVOLCS team examined the affected coastal areas and measured the extent of the water rise, including how far the sea water reached from the shoreline. The team also documented the observed conditions in the area for further assessment and reference.

The activity aims to gather relevant information and help determine the possible effects of the earthquake on the coastal areas.

The MDRRMO Malabang continues to monitor the situation and coordinate with PHIVOLCS and other concerned agencies to support ongoing assessment and ensure the safety and preparedness of the affected communities.
