Municipal Mayor Armando M. Quibod recently convened a meeting with department heads of the Local Government Unit (LGU) of Makilala to address the potential impacts of the ongoing fuel crisis linked to rising global tensions involving Israel, the United States, and Iran. The discussion centered on proactive measures to mitigate disruptions in essential government services as fuel supply uncertainties continue to affect operations.
During the meeting, the body outlined contingency plans to ensure uninterrupted delivery of critical services, particularly in frontline offices. Priority was given to departments handling health response, peace and order, public safety, incident management, and disaster response. Officials emphasized the importance of maintaining operational readiness despite possible fuel shortages, recognizing the vital role these offices play in safeguarding the community.
The timing of the preparations is especially crucial as the Holy Week approachesโa period marked by increased travel, public gatherings, and heightened demand for emergency and security services. Department heads were directed to implement fuel conservation strategies, optimize resource allocation, and coordinate closely with partner agencies to sustain efficient operations.
Mayor Quibod underscored the need for unity, vigilance, and preparedness among all departments. He assured the public that the local government is taking all necessary steps to ensure that essential services remain accessible and responsive, even amid external challenges affecting fuel supply.
The LGU of Makilala remains committed to protecting the welfare of its constituents by adapting swiftly to evolving situations and reinforcing its capacity to respond effectively during times of uncertainty. (MICO)
