In support to the internationalization of Philippine businesses through broader market access promotion, the Department of Trade and Industry through the Foreign Trade Service Corps (DTI-FTSC) tackled emerging opportunities for Philippine businesses and franchises across Southeast Asia at the Franchise Asia Philippines 2026.

Anchored on this yearโ€™s theme โ€œFranchising Together: ASEAN to the world,โ€ the event highlighted the evolving franchising landscape and the importance of strengthening regional collaboration, innovation, and sustainable business growth in line with the Philippinesโ€™ ASEAN 2026 hosting vision.

Foreign Trade Service Officer Beatrice Alexa Karamihan served as a keynote speaker at the Doing Business in ASEAN Forum, where she shared insights on regional market opportunities, market entry strategies, regulatory considerations, and cultural dynamics shaping business expansion within the ASEAN region.

The discussion explored evolving consumer preferences toward wellness-oriented products, sustainability-driven brands, natural ingredients, digital convenience, and localized consumer experiences across varying sectors.

Karamihan also highlighted the Philippinesโ€™ expanding network of trade agreements and ongoing negotiations to improve market access, reduce tariffs, and streamline customs procedures, further supporting the competitiveness and regional expansion of Philippine exporters and businesses.

The forum was part of the Franchise Asia Philippinesโ€™ operations-focused seminar series, which brought together industry leaders and experts across key business areas including regional expansion, finance, human resources, supply chain management, technology, and innovation.

Held last April 24, 2026, the business forum attracted diverse audience composed of franchisors, franchises, business executives, MSMEs, retailers, and aspiring entrepreneurs interested in exploring ASEAN growth opportunities and expanding their business presence globally.
