Yesterday, we closed our first ever , with a culminating event at the University of Santo Tomas where we brought together academic leaders, students, alumni, and partners 🎓 for a meaningful afternoon of exchange and inspiration.

From insightful discussions on Belgium–Philippines 🇧🇪🇵🇭 academic cooperation, to presentations on health equity initiatives, scholarship opportunities, and heartfelt testimonies from alumni who have thrived through this partnership.

We thank UST and its UST-College of Rehabilitation Sciences UST Office of Public Affairs for having organized this lecture and such a warm welcome to Belgian Ambassador Vladislava Iordanova in her first ever visit at the University.

To make the event more memorable, we delighted our student attendees with a special surprise appearance by Smurfette, bringing a touch of Belgian charm, joy, and nostalgia 💙

Truly, Belgian academic cooperation in the Philippines is not only historical—it is active, expanding, and deeply embedded in institutions such as UST to empower communities locally.

“Multilateralism and cooperation are in the Belgian DNA. We believe that alone we go faster but together, we go farther”, Ambassador Iordanova said as she closed her keynote address.

We look ahead with renewed commitment—continuing to build bridges for a better tomorrow through cooperation, innovation, and friendship. 🇧🇪🇵🇭

The Embassy of Belgium continues to strengthen its diplomatic engagement in the Pacific region.

Ambassador Vladislava Iordanova recently had the honour of presenting her Letters of Credence to H.E. President Surangel S. Whipps, Jr., marking her accreditation as Non-Resident Ambassador of the Kingdom of Belgium to the Republic of Palau. 🇵🇼

Since the establishment of diplomatic relations on 18 May 2010, Belgium and Palau have developed a constructive partnership grounded in shared priorities: climate action, multilateralism, the rules-based international order, biodiversity conservation, and sustainable development in close synergy with broader European Union efforts.

The Embassy looks forward to further deepening cooperation with Republic of Palau. 🌊🤝 🤝🌊

The Embassy of Belgium in the Philippines is expanding its mandate!

Ambassador Vladislva Iordanova Non-Resident Ambassador to the Federated States of Micronesia (FSM), recently had the honour of presenting her Letters of Credence to His Excellency President Wesley W. Simina during a ceremony in Palikir. 🇫🇲🇧🇪

As both countries mark 30 years of diplomatic relations, discussions highlighted shared priorities such as support to multilateralism, rules based international order, climate resilience with particular emphasis to ocean governance, and inclusivity.

The Embassy looks forward to continued cooperation and partnerships with the Office of the President, Federated States of Micronesia 🌏🌊
