The Embassy of Canada in the Philippines, in partnership with the embassies of Mexico and the United States, together with SM Supermalls, Blast TV, and the Philippine Football Federation (PFF), organized on June 13 the Pinoy Football Fiesta at the SM Mall of Asia’s MOA Sky in Pasay City.
This free celebration brought together sports, culture, and community as North America hosts the FIFA World Cup 2026™ from June 11 to July 19.
With the support of Blast TV, the Pinoy Football Fiesta brought fans together for a live watch party at the MOA Sky Amphitheater, featuring the U.S. opening ceremony in Los Angeles and the U.S. opening match against Paraguay. The event also included replays of the opening ceremonies in Toronto and Mexico City, along with matches between Canada and Bosnia and Herzegovina, and Mexico and South Africa.
PFF, with the support of McDonald’s, also led a football clinic for 50 young players at the adidas Football Park, giving young athletes tips and drills to sharpen their skills and to experience the unifying power of sports.
The Pinoy Football Fiesta highlights the shared commitment of Canada, Mexico, and the United States to deepen people‑to‑people ties, promote sports diplomacy, and celebrate decades of friendship with the Philippines.
FIFA World Cup 2026™ is the largest in history and the first to be co-hosted by three nations: Canada, Mexico, and the United States. This year’s historic tournament features 48 national teams playing 104 matches across 11 U.S. cities, two Canadian cities, and three Mexican cities. The tournament emphasizes the value of international cooperation in achieving shared objectives and strengthening ties among neighboring nations in the Western Hemisphere.
