We recently held a productive meeting with 𝐏𝐚𝐬𝐢𝐠 𝐂𝐢𝐭𝐲 𝐌𝐚𝐲𝐨𝐫 𝐕𝐢𝐜𝐨 𝐒𝐨𝐭𝐭𝐨 and representatives from to explore the potential of introducing an Aerial Ropeway Transport system in Metro Manila.

is globally recognized for its innovation, quality, and leadership in ropeway systems and high-tech intralogistics solutions. One of their notable success stories is in Mexico City, where a nearly 10-km aerial ropeway now connects directly to the city's largest transport hub -- allowing commuters to seamlessly transfer to buses and the metro. The result: everyday travel times have been cut by half, demonstrating the real impact of this technology in dense urban environments like Metro Manila.

As we continue this initiative, we look forward to meeting with other Metro Manila mayors and exploring how this technology can help reshape mobility across the region.

Commercial Counsellor Arnulf Gressel paid a courtesy visit to Assistant Secretary Levinson C. Alcantara and Director Francisco S. Aguilar, Jr. of the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW) on March 2, 2026. During the meeting, Austria reaffirmed its strong commitment to fair, ethical, and sustainable recruitment through regulated deployment of overseas Filipino workers. Both sides underscored the importance of continued dialogue to ensure that safe, transparent, and responsible recruitment pathways are maintained.

The DMW also shared its planned initiatives to support the cultural integration of OFWs in Austria, aimed at helping Filipino workers adapt more effectively to their host communities while safeguarding their welfare and well-being.

Representatives from the DMW Foreign Stakeholders Relations and Engagement Bureau – Americas and Europe Division, as well as Ms. April Mendoza of Advantage Austria, also joined the meeting.
