From island tourism to better air connectivity, Malaysia and Palau explored new possibilities for cooperation during Ambassador Dato’ Abdul Malik Melvin Castelino’s meeting with Mr. Kadoi Ruluked, Managing Director of the Palau Visitors Authority, in Koror on 1 September 2026.
Discussions focused on opportunities to enhance bilateral cooperation in tourism promotion, air connectivity, Halal tourism and medical tourism. During the meeting, the Malaysia Chamber of Commerce and Industry in the Philippines (MCCI) was introduced as a potential bridge to facilitate greater business collaboration among Malaysia, the Philippines and Palau.
The Ambassador also invited the Palau Visitors Authority to participate in the upcoming Malaysia International Halal Showcase (MIHAS 2026) in Kuala Lumpur from 23 to 26 September 2026, as well as the ASEAN Chambers of Commerce Summit in Manila in October 2026.
