In line with the Provincial Government of Sarangani and LGU Maitum continuing commitment to strengthen local efforts in the fight against illegal drugs and enhance the implementation of our anti-drug abuse initiatives, the Municipal Anti-Drug Abuse Council (MADAC) participated the Collaborative undertakings with PADAC to Best LGU in the Implementation of Anti- Drug Abuse Program in the City Government of San Juan and Baguio and Learning Exchange with the Office of the President – Dangerous Drugs Board (DDB) on November 24-28, 2025.
This capacity-building initiative aims to provide valuable insights and practical knowledge on effective and sustainable anti-drug programs, particularly in the following areas:
• Collaborative Community-Based Drug Rehabilitation (CBDRP);
• Livelihood and Reintegration Support for Recovering Persons Who Used Drugs
• (RPWUDs);
• Bahay Silangan Reformation Center Operations;
• Sustained Enforcement & Oversight, and Integrated Institutional Coordination; and
• Other innovative anti-drug interventions and strategies.
The Municipal Administrator- Mr Ruben R Balanag, MADAC Focal Person- Ms Marife Cambel/ Anti-Drug Abuse Program In-Charge, participated in the said activity. This serve as an opportunity for cross-learning and collaboration between local government units in line with the Philippine Anti-Illegal Drugs Strategy (PADS).
