𝐃𝐎𝐍𝐀𝐓𝐈𝐎𝐍 𝐃𝐑𝐈𝐕𝐄 𝐔𝐏𝐃𝐀𝐓𝐄

TOGETHER with the Sarangani Junior Officials, Provincial Youth Development Office - Sarangani Province, CharitAble Makima, PPSK Maasim, and dedicated youth volunteers, the LYDO/C and SK Federation of Maitum successfully conducted a feeding operation on June 13, 2026 for approximately 400 earthquake-affected residents in Purok 5 and 6, Asnalang, Barangay Tinoto, Maasim.

Through the collective efforts of these organizations and volunteers, warm arroz caldo was prepared and distributed to families and individuals who were displaced and affected by the recent earthquake. More than a meal, the activity served as a gesture of solidarity and compassion, bringing comfort and support to community members as they continue to recover from the disaster.

This initiative reflects the spirit of bayanihan among the youth of Sarangani, demonstrating how and volunteerism can make a meaningful difference during times of crisis.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all our generous donors, partners, and hardworking volunteers whose kindness, time, and resources made this activity possible. We thank the Mdrrmo Maitum, Sangguniang Bayan of Maitum, Municipal Treasurer’s Office, and the Barangay Council of Wali for their transportation support.

Yesterday, PPSK Maitum together with MYDO Maitum, youth volunteers, and various youth organizations joined forces in a feeding operation for affected families in the Municipalities of Maasim, Malapatan, and Glan.

The distribution of hot packed meals and bottled water was made possible through the collective efforts and support of MYDO Maitum, PYDO Volunteers, Volunteers from Maasim, SJOAA, Youth Service Philippines – Sarangani Chapter, Akbay Maitum, PPSK Alabel, and PPSK Glan.

This initiative reflects the unwavering spirit of bayanihan and solidarity among the youth in extending compassion and immediate assistance to communities affected by recent calamities.

The 7th SK Federation of Maitum also extends its sincere gratitude to the Sangguniang Bayan of Maitum, Municipal Treasury Office, MDRRMO Maitum and Barangay Council of Wali for providing transportation assistance for the volunteers, making this humanitarian effort possible.

In a strong manifestation of unity, volunteerism, and public service, Youth Service Philippines - Sarangani Chapter, in partnership with PPSK Maitum, PPSK Alabel, and MYDO Maitum, conducted the distribution of hot packed meals to families affected by recent calamities in Barangay Calabanit, Glan, Sarangani.

The collaborative humanitarian effort aimed to provide immediate relief and comfort to families and individuals facing hardships during these difficult times. Volunteers from the participating youth organizations worked hand in hand in preparing, packing, and distributing meals to the community, demonstrating the true spirit of bayanihan and youth leadership.

As relief efforts continue across affected areas, the participating groups encourage everyone to continue supporting humanitarian initiatives and to uphold the spirit of unity and service for the welfare of all.

In response to the recent earthquake that affected several communities in Sarangani Province, the Provincial Youth Development Office (PYDO) Sarangani Volunteers, together with the Pambayang Pederasyon ng Sangguniang Kabataan (PPSK) Maitum and the Municipal Youth Development Office (MYDO) Maitum, are currently conducting a feeding operation for affected residents in Purok 6, Asnalang, Barangay Tinoto, Maasim.

With the spirit of bayanihan and humanitarian service, volunteers and youth leaders joined forces to prepare and distribute warm arroz caldo to families and individuals displaced and affected by the earthquake. The initiative aims to provide immediate comfort and assistance to residents while recovery efforts continue in the area.

The activity reflects the commitment of the youth sector and local organizations in extending compassion and support during times of crisis. Despite the challenges brought by the disaster, the unity and cooperation among volunteers, local officials, and partner organizations continue to bring hope and relief to the community.

As the feeding operation continues, organizers also encourage everyone to remain vigilant, support ongoing relief initiatives, and continue praying for the safety and recovery of all affected families.

As of June 12, 2026, we have raised ₱11,503.00 in support of families affected by the recent earthquake in Sarangani Province.

A portion of the funds has already been turned over to the Provincial Youth Development Office - Sarangani Province through youth volunteers from Maitum who are currently mobilizing for the relief operations in Maasim. The remaining amount will be used to purchase food and hygiene essentials for the LGU-Maitum Donation Box.

In response to the call for Bayanihan para sa Kapwa Sarangan of the LGU - Municipality of Maitum, several youth organizations and Local Youth Development Council (LYDC) members are currently mobilizing conducting collective donation drives for the victims of the recent earthquake.

Through the initiatives of the Maitum youth, essential relief items such as bottled water, food packs, and other necessities were gathered and turned over at the Maitum Municipal Hall to support affected families across Sarangani Province.

Youth volunteers also rendered their time and service during the relief operations of the MSWDO and LGU within the municipality.

The activity showcased the compassion and solidarity of the Maitum youth, proving that in times of crisis, the youth are not only beneficiaries of development but also active partners in humanitarian response and community recovery.

Following the official cancellation of the tsunami warning by the Philippine Institute of Volcanology and Seismology (PHIVOLCS), all internally displaced persons (IDPs) in the Municipality of Maitum who were affected by the pre-emptive evacuation measures have now safely returned to their respective homes.

While the situation in Maitum has stabilized, several neighboring municipalities in Sarangani Province, including Alabel, Malapatan, and Glan, continue to accommodate displaced families in evacuation centers as they recover from the impacts of the recent earthquake.

In response, the Municipal Mayor’s Office–Local Youth Development Office (MMO-LYDO), through the youth organizations of the Local Youth Development Council; in partnership with the SK Federation of Maitum and the Provincial Youth Development Office - Sarangani Province, is launching a DONATION DRIVE to provide much-needed assistance to affected individuals and families.

We invite everyone to extend their support through donations of food, drinking water, hygiene kits, sleeping materials, and other essential relief items.

𝐋𝐆𝐔 𝐌𝐚𝐢𝐭𝐮𝐦 𝐂𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐬 𝐏𝐫𝐞𝐩𝐚𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐨𝐫𝐲 𝐌𝐞𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐔𝐩𝐜𝐨𝐦𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐆𝐄𝐌𝐒 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐒𝐊 𝐀𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐦𝐞𝐧𝐭

The Local Government Unit of Maitum, through the Local Youth Development Office (LYDO), conducted a preparatory meeting on June 6, 2026, at the ABC Hall in anticipation of the upcoming GEMS for SK Assessment.

The meeting gathered the members of the Municipal Evaluation Team (MET), including representatives from the Budget Office, Accounting Office, MLGOO, and Local Youth Development Council of Maitum.

As key partners in the GEMS for SK Assessment process, the MET members discussed the revised DILG guidelines and assessment procedures for a coordinated and objective evaluation.

The Sangguniang Kabataan (SK) councils of the 19 barangays, led by the SKMFP Hon. Kenneth Lance Rocapor, were also invited to participate in the planning of submission timelines and compliance requirements to facilitate the timely preparation of documentary and program accomplishments. The activity was led by MET Chairperson and LYDO, Ms. X**a Angel Eve Apolinar, with the guidance of MLGOO Ma'am Merlita Jomuad, reinforcing the commitment of the LGU to strengthen youth governance and support the effective implementation of the GEMS for SK program in the municipality.
