TURNOVER CEREMONY OF THE INTEGRATED NATIONAL SWINE PRODUCTION INITIATIVE FOR RECOVERY AND EXPANSION (INSPIRE) PROJECT | MAY 13, 2026

The Municipal Agriculture Office of Magsaysay expresses its full support and commitment during the turnover ceremony of the Integrated National Swine Production Initiative for Recovery and Expansion (INSPIRE) Project held last May 13, 2026. 💚

This initiative, implemented in partnership with the Department of Agriculture – Region 10 headed by Regional Executive Director Jose Apollo Y. Pacamalan, aims to strengthen the local swine industry through improved biosecurity measures, enhanced farming practices, and increased productivity. It is expected to provide greater opportunities for local hog raisers, safeguard livestock against diseases, and contribute to a more stable and resilient agricultural economy in the municipality.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Department of Agriculture – Region 10 for its continued support and dedication in advancing programs that directly benefit our farmers and the agricultural sector.

Together, we move forward in building a stronger, safer, and more sustainable swine industry for the people of Magsaysay.

Rice Clusters Strengthened Through 5-Day IPM Training 🌾🌾🌾

The 5-Day Training on Integrated Pest Management (IPM) for Rice Clusters was successfully conducted on March 20–24, 2026 at Kakilgan Beach Resort, Poblacion, Magsaysay, Misamis Oriental.

This activity was made possible through the collaboration of the Agricultural Training Institute (ATI) and the Office of the Municipal Agriculturist, LGU-Magsaysay.

We extend our sincere appreciation to the 34 participants for their active engagement throughout the training. Our gratitude also goes to the resource persons, Marianne Angela S. Ratilla and Francisco O. Naldoza, for sharing their valuable expertise.

Special thanks to Maria Lydia A. Echavez, Training Center Superintendent II/Center Director, ATI-RTC X, together with the support of Bryan Jay V. Another step in strengthening community awareness and coastal stewardship. 💚

An IEC Campaign was successfully conducted at CFLC, Poblacion, Magsaysay, Misamis Oriental, as part of the continuing series of activities of the DFW during their OJT for the Deputization Training.

The Office, headed by Mr. Patrick Ralph R. Pahalla, extends its sincere appreciation to the Philippine Coast Guard – Magsaysay Substation, led by PO3 Mac Elman N. Basilio, PCG, and his team, as well as to the active and dedicated DFW of Magsaysay, Misamis Oriental, for their invaluable support and participation.

LOOK! 153 Hawksbill sea turtle hatchlings were successfully released on May 1, 2026, at Purok 1, Brgy. Damayuhan, Magsaysay, Misamis Oriental.

This conservation effort was spearheaded by Brgy. Captain Hon. Rolando U. Pagara of Candiis and Hon. Panfilo T. Sososco of Brgy. Damayuhan, together with barangay officials, in collaboration with CENRO Gingoog, MENRO Des. Gemrex D. Breva, and personnel from the LGU – Tourism Office and Agriculture Office.

Empowering Coastal Stewards 🐢🌊

April 27, 2026 | Training on Practical Skills to Safely Rescue Turtle Nest and Hatchlings was successfully conducted at Dalogdog Beach Resort, Purok-5, Poblacion, Magsaysay, Misamis Oriental.

This meaningful activity was made possible through the collaboration of the Municipal Tourism Office, MENRO, and MAO. We extend our sincere appreciation to the active participants from Magsaysay College OJT students, the DFWs, and the Municipal Tourism staff.

Our heartfelt gratitude goes to our Resource Person, Hon. Rolando U. Pagara, Brgy. Captain of Candiis, for sharing valuable knowledge and expertise.

Despite limited resources and working within available means, this initiative would not have been possible without the collective effort and support of everyone involved—especially Shiegfred R. Abucejo (Municipal Tourism Operations Officer), Gemrex D. Breva (Planning Officer III/MENRO Designate), and Patrick Ralph R. Pahalla (Municipal Agriculturist).

Special thanks as well to the staff of the Municipal Agriculture Office for facilitating the activity.

It seems like it’s the season of farewells for our gentle seafarers 🌊🐢

April 24, 2026 | a total of 71 hatchlings were safely released into the sea at Brgy. Damayuhan, Magsaysay, Misamis Oriental, marking another meaningful step in our collective effort to protect and preserve marine life.

The activity was spearheaded by the Local Government of Magsaysay, led by Hon. Charlie B. Buhisan, Municipal Mayor, and joined by Municipal Tourism Operations Officer Mr. Shiegfred R. Abucejo, Planning Officer III, and MENRO Des. Gemrex D. Breva, and Hon. Rolando U. Pagara, Brgy. Captain of Candiis.

Also in attendance were Hon. Panfilo Sososco Jr., Brgy. Captain of Damayuhan, who was joined by his barangay officials. The event was further supported by SK Federation President Xylona Marie Ratilla, personnel from CENRO Gingoog, the Municipal Agriculture Office, and “The Squad” — Pamela Camagay, Homeylyn Taglinao, Samantha Palamine, Marper Bacoy, Dave Cabilogan, Edu Cultura, Jovany Dumanat, and Blaz Rex James Cuay — for their valuable support to the activity.

The release was witnessed by members of the community, reflecting a shared commitment to safeguarding our coastal resources and ensuring that these hatchlings begin their journey safely back to the ocean.

A total of 69 Hawksbill Sea Turtle hatchlings were successfully released back into the sea, marking another meaningful step in marine conservation efforts. 💚

The activity was spearheaded by Hon. Rolando Pagara, in collaboration with the AECTF Monitoring Station personnel, MENRO Gemrex Breva, and the Municipal Agriculture Office. This collective effort highlights the community’s continued commitment to protecting and preserving our marine biodiversity.

April 14, 2026 | the Municipal Agriculture Office – Fishery Sector, in partnership with the Philippine Coast Guard and the dedicated Deputy Fish Wardens, successfully conducted a series of environmental and enforcement activities at Sitio Kiabo, Purok 5, Brgy. Sta. Cruz, Magsaysay, Misamis Oriental. 💚

Activities included a Coastal Clean-up, Mangrove Planting, Landing and Market Denial/Inspection, and Seaborne Patrol—demonstrating our continued commitment to protecting and sustaining our coastal and fishery resources.

The Municipal Agriculture Office, headed by Mr. Patrick Ralph R. Pahalla, extends heartfelt gratitude to all who participated and supported the activity. Special thanks to Brgy. Kagawad Eddie Zapico for the warm accommodation, and to the Philippine Coast Guard, headed by Mac Elman N. Basilio, for their invaluable support, expertise, and active participation.
