In the second session of the SAPSSHI activity, titled โ๐๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ถ๐ป๐ด ๐๐ฒ๐๐ผ๐ป๐ฑ ๐๐๐๐,โ participants were invited to rethink what it truly means to lead, to serve, and to care within the school community. More than a discussion, the session became a compelling reminder that wellness, safety, and gender sensitivity should never remain lofty ideals confined to speeches and documents. They must be livedโconsistently, intentionally, and wholeheartedly.
At the heart of this powerful session was ๐ ๐ฟ. ๐ ๐ฒ๐น ๐๐ผ๐ต๐ป ๐. ๐ฉ๐ฎ๐ฟ๐ด๐ฎ๐, a Registered Midwife, Registered Nurse, Licensed Professional Teacher, and Certified Trainer in Basic Life Support. Armed with both technical expertise and genuine compassion, Mr. Vargas delivered insights that resonated deeply with educators and school leaders. His message was clear: caring is not an optional virtue tied to position or profession. It is a daily responsibility.
He emphasized that every learner, teacher, and staff member deserves a school environment where they feel safe, heard, and respectedโnot just in policy, but in everyday interactions. Gender sensitivity, he reminded the group, must be more than a checkbox or a slogan. It is a commitment to recognizing identities, respecting differences, and safeguarding human dignity.
Mr. Vargas challenged participants to move beyond routine compliance and instead embrace authentic careโcare that listens, protects, and uplifts. His expertise in health and safety, paired with a deep understanding of the human side of education, made the session both practical and transformative.
As the session concluded, one thing became evident: โCaring Beyond Dutyโ is not a concept for special occasionsโit is the work of every day, every classroom, and every leader who chooses empathy over indifference.
