A New Chapter Begins for the Sangguniang Bayan of MacArthur, Leyte.

July 3, 2025 || The 19th Sangguniang Bayan of MacArthur, Leyte, held its Inaugural Session marking the official start of its legislative journey.
It was attended by the department heads from the local offices and national agencies within the municipality.

The Municipal Mayor, HON. RUDIN T. BABANTE and the Municipal Vice Mayor, HON. JESUS A. BARANDA delivered their inaugural messages, setting the tone for unity and continued progress.

The newly elected members of the Sangguniang Bayan also gave their respective privilege speeches expressing gratitude and commitment to public service.

Indeed, it was a successful beginning for a new term of governance into a more progressive MacArthur, Leyte!

Vice Mayor Jesus A. Baranda collaborated with Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority ( PhilFIDA ) to start an Abaca Nursery for Abaca plantation in the Municipality this is set to be located at Brgy. Sta. Isabel MacArthur, Leyte.

Attached photos are taken earlier today September 13, 2023 for the actual transportation from Eastern Visayas Regional Fiber Experiment Station - Brgy. Balinsasayao, Abuyog, Leyte and distribution of Abaca seedlings and corms to Brgy. Sta. Isabel Abaca Farmers.

Moreover, the Local Government Unit of Macarthur, Leyte would like to extends it heartwarming gratitude to Philippine Fiber Industry Development Authority (PhilFIDA)
for extending their hands in providing quality Abaca seedlings.

The Local Chief Executive, Hon. Rudin T. Babante together with some of the Sangguniang Bayan Members of LGU MacArthur, Leyte namely Hon. Xandrix Pantin,
Hon. Jonathan Barquin, Hon. Raul Mundala, were privileged to witness the regular session of the House of Representatives held last August 23,2023.

Furthermore, they personally followed-up on the submitted resolutions and handed the SB resolutions on expressing gratitude to the House Speaker, Ferdinand Martin Romualdez, representatives of Tingog Party List namely Congresswoman Yedda Marie K. Romualdez and Congressman Philip Jude A. Acidre, to the Congresswoman Lo**ta Karen Javier of the 2nd District of Leyte, and Vice Governor Leonardo "Sandy" M. Javier Jr., for all their utmost support and assistance granted to our municipality.

With this, the Local Officials were able to lobby the Honorable Congressmen to continue it's support and assistance for the continued development and progress of the Municipality of MacArthur Leyte.

Sangguniang Bayan Members, Hon. Trina C. Burawis, Chairman of the Committe on Social Services, Hon. Vicoriano T. Lazar, Chairman of the Committee on Infrastructure, and Hon. Xandrix P. Pantin, Chairman of the Committee on Agriculture, personally went to DPWH 2nd LED Carigara, Leyte last July 4,2023. There they were able to talk to Assistant District Engr. Francisco Robin Jr. regarding the request for funding assistance for the construction of Senior Citizen Building and PWD Building for the Municipality of MacArthur. They also submitted Resolution No. 2023-095 in the said office.

In addition, the SB Members also went to DENR RO8 and NIA for future projects in our Municipality.
