Pagsasagawa ng National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill sa Magalong NHS

Ika-11 ng Setyembre 2025, matagumpay na isinagawa ng Magalong National High School sa pamumuno ni Mdm. Susana Castillo Racraquin - Principal IV, ang National Simultaneous Earthquake Drill (NSED) bilang bahagi ng paghahanda ng paaralan laban sa mga kalamidad, partikular na sa lindol. Ang nasabing aktibidad ay isinagawa alinsunod sa direktiba ng Department of Education (DepEd) at ng National Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Council (NDRRMC) upang matiyak ang kahandaan ng mga mag-aaral, g**o, at kawani sa panahon ng sakuna.

Eksaktong alas-4:00 ng hapon ay tumunog ang hudyat ng lindol, hudyat din upang isagawa ng lahat ang "Duck, Cover, and Hold" technique. Matapos ang 60 segundo, maingat na lumikas ang lahat ng nasa loob ng mga silid-aralan patungo sa itinakdang evacuation area (School Quadrangle) na nasa harapan ng paaralan. Mabilis ngunit maayos ang naging paglikas ng mga mag-aaral at g**o, na ginabayan ng kanilang mga class advisers at ng School DRRM Coordinator, Mdm. Ivy Dizon Banting.

Ang aktibidad ay naging matagumpay at kapaki-pakinabang. Patuloy ang pangakong suporta ng Magalong NHS sa mga inisyatibong naglalayong tiyakin ang kaligtasan ng bawat isa sa panahon ng sakuna.

Noong Hulyo 14, 2025, matagumpay na naisagawa ng Magalong National High School ang isang mahalagang aktibidad na bahagi ng pagpapatupad ng programang Gulayan sa Paaralan. Sa pangunguna ni Madam Susana Castillo -Racraquin, ang masigasig na punong-g**o ng paaralan, isinagawa ang paglilinis at pagbabakod sa harap ng PPP (Public-Private Partnership) Building upang ihanda ang lupang pagtatamnan ng mga gulay ng mga mag-aaral.

Ang programang Gulayan sa Paaralan ay isa sa mga hakbang ng Department of Education upang maisulong ang sapat na nutrisyon, kahusayan sa agrikultura, at disiplina sa mga kabataang Pilipino. Nakatuon ito hindi lamang sa pagtatanim kundi sa pagbibigay ng kaalaman at kasanayan sa mga mag-aaral tungkol sa organikong pagsasaka, pangangalaga sa kapaligiran, at kahalagahan ng pagkakaroon ng sariling taniman ng pagkain.

Sinimulan ang malawakang paglilinis sa harap ng PPP Building. Sama-samang nagtrabaho ang lahat sa pagtatanggal ng mga damo, basurang plastik, bato, at iba pang sagabal sa lupa. May mga nagtanim na rin ng mga patpat na pananda upang markahan ang mga bahagi ng lupang pagtataniman. Ang aktibidad ay naging masigla at puno ng kooperasyon.

Matapos linisin ang buong lugar, sinimulan naman ang pagbabakod upang maprotektahan ang magiging gulayan mula sa mga ligaw na hayop o taong maaaring makasira sa taniman. Gumamit ng matibay na kahoy bilang poste na maaari ring gapangan ng mga gulay na itatanim tulad ng sitaw.

Ang matagumpay na pagsasagawa ng aktibidad ay hindi lamang nakatuon sa pisikal na aspeto ng paghahanda ng gulayan, kundi naging mabisang paraan din upang maitanim sa puso’t isipan ng mga kabataan ang kahalagahan ng disiplina, malasakit, at pagbabalik sa kalikasan.

Sa pagtatapos ng aktibidad, lubos ang pasasalamat ni Madam Susana Catillo-Racraquin sa dedikasyon ng bawat isa. Ayon sa kanya, "Ang gulayang ito ay hindi lang para sa paaralan, kundi para sa buong komunidad. Ito ay magsisilbing buhay na silid-aralan kung saan natututo ang mga bata hindi lamang mula sa aklat kundi mula sa mismong karanasan."

Ang aktibidad na ito ay patunay na sa tulong ng pagkakaisa at tamang pamumuno, posible ang pagbuo ng mga proyektong may pangmatagalang benepisyo para sa mga mag-aaral at sa buong paaralan.
