Starting June 1, the City Government of Maasin will resume the regular 8 AM-5PM, five-day work week, following the reduction of fuel prices and to normalize frontline government services.

While regular office operations are restored, austerity and energy conservation measures will continue to be observed to ensure the efficient and responsible use of government resources. Executive order will follow.

IN PHOTOS | The Office of the City Mayor – Internal Audit Services Unit conducted a 2-day seminar on the Principles of Internal Control and Internal Auditing in Local Government Units on May 26 and 28, 2026 at Maasin City Hall.

The activity gathered city employees to strengthen their understanding of internal control systems and auditing practices that promote transparency, accountability, efficiency, and good governance.

The seminar also emphasized compliance with government standards and the role of internal auditing in improving local government operations.

IN PHOTOS | The City Government of Maasin, in partnership with the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Regional Office VIII, conducted a capability-building training on satellite internet terminal handling, setup, and maintenance.

The session also included orientations on cybersecurity, PNPKI, and the eGov PH Super App for DRRMO, ENRO, CSWDO, barangay end-users, PNP, and BFP.

DICT engineers Engr. Chris Andrien Dela Cruz and Engr. Jesryl Vergara led hands-on demonstrations, while DICT resource persons facilitated the digital governance discussions.

The activity aimed to strengthen disaster communication systems and advance digital governance in Maasin City.

IN PHOTOS | The City Government of Maasin, through the Office of the City Treasurer, officially launched the Annual Tax Collection Campaign and Information Drive at the Barangay Cabadiangan Covered Court.

The campaign covers 39 selected barangays with the highest number of delinquent properties, giving residents from far-flung areas easier access to settle unpaid real property taxes and update property records closer to their communities.

Different LGU offices and partner agencies also joined the activity to inform Maasinhons about various government services and programs available to them.

Through this initiative, the City Government aims to strengthen tax collection efforts and improve local revenue generation to support projects and essential services for the people of Maasin.

IN PHOTOS | A total of 300 beneficiaries attended the orientation for the Department of Labor and Employment’s (DOLE) TUPAD Program in Maasin City. During the activity, participants were briefed on the nature of their temporary employment, required documents, and work assignments under the program.

Beneficiaries will render 20 days of work focused on coastal clean-up, barangay maintenance activities such as tree planting and community upkeep, and assistance during Brigada Eskwela preparations. Each beneficiary is expected to receive β‚±9,040 upon completion of the program requirements.

DOLE also informed the beneficiaries that processing of documents is currently ongoing, while the official start of work will be announced once finalized.
