DepEd Tayo-Kablacan Integrated School's teacher-coaches arrived at the Sarangani Highlands last May 7 to 9 for the Journalism Masters Series: Advanced Training on Emerging Trends and Excellence in Campus Journalism, they carried a singular mission, to learn.
The three-day advanced training gathered school paper advisers and coaches from across the Sarangani Division to prepare for the shifting academic calendar. Organized through the initiative of Sir John Jerson C. Padernal, EPS, and Maโam Analiza A. Domingo, EPS, the event brought in brilliant speakers from Sessions A to D to upgrade the skills of school paper advisers and coaches in the different categories.
For the teacher-participants, the focus was pure and professional. โWe went there to train, not to compete,โ said Maโam Riza Mae O. Fronteras, School Paper Adviser for Elementary and an RSPC Qualifier Coach. โBut the organizers decided to recognize the top outputs. Winning just became a bonus.โ
What a bonus it turned out to be;
โ๐ผ Maโam Ella Marie C. Magnabe
๐ฅ First Place in News Writing
๐ฅ Second Place in Editorial Cartooning
โ๐ผ Maโam Jenevev A. Ambil
๐ฅ Second Place in Editorial Writing
โ๐ผ Maโam Mergie B. Atabelo
๐
Fifth Place in Editorial Writing
Ma'am Fronteras expressed her gratitude to the OIC-School Head, Ma'am Analyn C. Serentas and Ma'am Josephine B. Dango, AOII, for maximizing the budget despite the tight notice, and for processing documents on time.
The Kablacan coaches carry more than certificates. They return with sharper skills, deeper confidence, and a quiet message to their students: the best writers are, first and always, the best learners.
Congratulations, teacher-coaches! ๐ฅณ
