Two of the several measures discussed yesterday were the 2 committee reports of the Committee on Agriculture, chaired by the Hon. Bernardo B. Prangos, concerning the Memorandum of Agreement between the Local Chief Executive, Hon. Zyrex C. Pacquiao, LPT, MMPA, and the Department of Agriculture Region XII in relation to the proposed procurement of Collapsible Dryers intended for beneficiary Farmer Associations in Maasim.

IN PHOTOS:

The Local Lady Legislator League (4L) which comprises of all Elected Women (Barangay and Municipal) of Maasim spearheaded by Municipal Vice Mayor, Hon. Visitacion S. Nambatac, conducted a Tree Planting & Growing Activity earlier this day, October 28, 2025 at the Evacuation Center near the new Public Terminal.

This activity was initiated in support of the One Million Tree Program of the Provincial Government of Sarangani. The 1 Million tree program is the approach adopted by PLGU Sarangani to promote reforestation and to rehabilitate the soil quality of Sarangani.

The tree planting & growing activity was successfully held in coordination with the Municipal Environment & Natural Resources Office of Maasim headed by Mrs. Alejandra G. Sison as well as the other agencies, offices and the rest of the participants.

The Committee on Public Works, Facilities, Transportation & Communication of the 17th Sanggunian of Maasim chaired by Hon. Aldwin Z. Labongan, LCB held a committee meeting this afternoon, October 16, 2025.

The agenda of the committee meeting pertains to the committee's 3 proposed ordinances namely:

1. "AN ORDINANCE PROHIBITING THE USE OF MODIFIED MUFFLERS AND OPEN TAIL PIPES (BURAK) FOR MOTOR VEHICLES WITHIN THE MUNICIPALITY OF MAASIM AND PRESCRIBING PENALTIES IN VIOLATION THEREOF";

2. " AN ORDINANCE IMPOSING AND REGULATING THE SPEED LIMIT OF ALL VEHICLES PLYING WITHIN THE TERRITORIAL JURISDICTION OF THE MUNICIPALITY OF MAASIM"; and

3. "AN ORDINANCE IMPLEMENTING THE MUNICIPAL WATER SYSTEM AND IMPOSITION OF PENALTIES THEREOF".

Together with Hon. Labongan is his Committee Vice Chair, Hon. Bernardo Prangos and other fellow councilors, Hon. Marlon G. Macabangon and Hon. Emelita Pelipas. Details about the schedule of the forthcoming committee hearing and public hearing will be announced soon.

The Committee on Trade & Industry of the 17th Sanggunian of Maasim chaired by Hon. Marlon G. Macabangon held a committee hearing this afternoon, October 16, 2025. The agenda of the committee hearing pertains to the committee's proposed Ordinance entitled: "AN ORDINANCE ESTABLISHING THE MUNICIPAL MEAT INSPECTION SERVICE (MMIS) AND OPERATION/ MANAGEMENT OF THE MUNICIPAL SLAUGHTERHOUSE UNDER THE OFFICE OF THE MUNICIPAL AGRICULTURIST , APPROPRIATING FUNDS FOR THE PROPER CONDUCT OF SERVICES AND ACTIVITIES THEREOF".

The Committee on Finance, Appropriation, Ways and Means of the 17th Sanggunian of Maasim chaired by Hon. Margarito L. Lanticse II conducted a committee hearing this afternoon, October 16, 2025.

The main agenda of the committee hearing is the proposed loan of LGU MAASIM in the amount of P 75,000,000.00 to be used as fund of the following proposed project:

1. Improvement of Public Cemetery (40, 000,000.00);
2. Improvement of Parks & Plaza (12, 000,000.00);
3. Rehabilitation of Children's Play Ground (3, 000,000.00) ;
4. Acquisition of Lots (13, 000,000.00) ;
5. Repair of Pere meter Fence (2, 000,000.00) ;
6. Improvement of Municipal Building (3, 000,000.00) ; and
7. Pavement Replacement (2, 000,000.00).
