The Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) successfully conducted a Product Development on Coco Shells and Product Pricing & Costing Seminar for the OFC Calapagan in Barangay Calapagan, Lupon, Davao Oriental! 🌴

Through this hands-on training, our talented local participants learned how to turn ordinary coconut shells into stunning, marketable pieces. From mastering the creative craft to understanding the business side of pricing and costing, they are now fully equipped to take the market by storm!

On April 20, 2026, the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI), through the Negosyo Center Lupon, successfully spearheaded an Introduction to Bookkeeping Seminar at the ABC Building, marking a significant step forward for local community leadership. This vital capacity-building initiative was conducted in close coordination with the Municipal Social Welfare and Development Office (MSWDO) and featured Ms. Anna Mae Tambuco, Trade-Industry Development Specialist from DTI Davao Oriental, as the keynote resource speaker. Throughout the session, 15 dedicated Civil Society Organization (CSO) officers immersed themselves in the fundamentals of financial management, gaining the essential tools needed to ensure transparency, maintain precise records, and uphold a high standard of accountability within their groups.

The atmosphere was filled with energy as the participants remained notably active, engaging in deep discussions and hands-on practical exercises designed to sharpen their operational skills. This seminar served as more than just a training session; it was a crucial intervention aimed at fostering long-term sustainability and efficiency for our local organizations. By mastering these accounting principles, our CSO officers have demonstrated a powerful commitment to professional growth and community empowerment. We are incredibly proud of their enthusiastic involvement and look forward to seeing these new skills translate into even stronger, more organized local institutions.

🎉 On November 11, 2025, members of OFC Calapagan and Marayag participated in a DTI-initiated Dressmaking Training on Filipiniana Blouse Making held at Brgy. Calapagan, Davao Oriental.

The training was facilitated by Ms. Jonahbee Talaugon, Business Counselor of Negosyo Center Baganga, who shared her expertise in tailoring and design to help participants enhance their sewing skills and explore livelihood opportunities in dressmaking. ✂️👗

This Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) initiative aims to promote local craftsmanship and Filipino culture, empowering participants—especially women—to create income-generating products rooted in pride and tradition.
