The recent Advocacy Camp for Children and Youth, which took place on June 20-21, 2024, brought together young leaders from cities and municipalities across Laguna for a two-day event. The primary goal of the camp was to equip children with knowledge and skills. The camp was attended by officials from MCA Luisiana, including Joever Monticalbo (MCA President) and Myxie Monticalbo (PCF Representative). Additionally, BCA members Cheeney Dela Rosa and Justine Saludes were also present.
During the camp, attendees participated in a series of sessions delivered by speakers, each focusing on important issues facing today's youth. Niรฑa Yasoรฑa, RSW, led a discussion on Online Cyber Safety, highlighting the significance of security and responsible internet usage. Eightria Ubaldo, a Registered Nurse, addressed the topic of Teenage Pregnancy, offering insights and preventive strategies to guide young individuals in making informed choices.
PCPL. Ralph Callueng conducted a hands-on workshop on Basic Life Support, teaching attendees essential skills that could potentially make a difference in saving lives. In addition, the 202nd Brigade Philippine discussed the Community Information Awareness Approach Program (CIAAP), sharing insights on community engagement and awareness strategies to promote a sense of responsibility among the participants.
Apart from the sessions, the camp also focused on building unity and teamwork. An exciting solidarity night provided an opportunity for participants to bond through singing contests and various performances, while team-building activities promoted collaboration and fostered relationships among leaders.
