Earlier today, May 28, 2026, the Turnover Ceremony of Capture Fisheries Interventions for our fisherfolk beneficiaries was successfully conducted.

We extend our highest appreciation to our Municipal Mayor, Hon. Wellie G. Lim, for his outstanding leadership, unwavering commitment, and continued support in advancing programs for our fisherfolk.

We likewise convey our deep appreciation to our Municipal Vice Mayor, Hon. Roger G. Lim, for his proactive involvement, dedicated service, and invaluable contributions to the success of this initiative.

We also commend the Honorable Members of the Sangguniang Bayan for their steadfast support, legislative guidance, and commitment to programs that uplift our fishing communities, and

Ms. Mary Joy Tac-an, OIC Provincial Fisheries Officer of BFAR Region X, for her invaluable assistance in the effective implementation of this intervention.

🏆🌿 MEMET Awarding 🌿🏆

We would like to congratulate our Top 3 Barangay Performers during last year's Municipal Environmental Monitoring and Evaluation:

🥇 Calangahan – 97.68%
🥈 Kaluknayan – 94.94%
🥉 Betahon – 92.59%

The awarding ceremony was held last March 31, 2026 at the Municipal Function Hall where Hon. Zaldy Ermac and the MEMET members awarded the Plaque of Recognition to the winning Barangays who will also be receiving cash prizes. The conduct of MEMET aims to assess the Barangays' performance on Environmental Protection, Health and Sanitation, Fisheries, and Agricultural programs. It serves to strengthen environmental governance at the Barangay level and acts as a guide in improving their environmental performance and sustainability efforts.💚🌏

The Kaluknayan Livestock Raisers Association successfully gathered 65 kilos of tilapia during their initial harvest at Purok 2, Kaluknayan, Lugait, Misamis Oriental with a market price (farm gate price) of 170.00 pesos per kilo.

This initiative was implemented by the Bureau of Fisheries and Aquatic Resources (BFAR) under the Tilapia Culture In Pond (TCIP) project last September 2025, in coordination with and under the guidance of the Lugait Municipal Agriculture Office.

The Association expresses its sincere appreciation to BFAR for its continued technical and material support in advancing the livelihoods of local fisherfolk.

We likewise extend our profound gratitude to the Municipal Government of Lugait, led by Hon. Wellie G. Lim, CPA, Municipal Mayor, and Hon. Roger G. Lim, Vice Mayor, together with the Members of the Sangguniang Bayan, for their steadfast support to agricultural and fisheries development initiatives.

This successful activity reflects the strong collaboration among stakeholders in promoting sustainable aquaculture and community development.
