LUCENA CITY’S YOUNG AGRIPRENEURS RISE IN YFC SEASON 6!

Three young enterprises from Lucena City were recognized among the 35 awardees from across CALABARZON during the Young Farmers Challenge (YFC) Season 6 Regional Summit and Awarding Ceremony, held on October 7, 2026, at the Development Academy of the Philippines (DAP), Tagaytay City, Cavite. The event was led by the Department of Agriculture–Regional Field Office CALABARZON, Agribusiness and Marketing Assistance Division (DA-RFO IVA-AMAD).

Representing Lucena City were Mr. Rex R. Gaddi Jr. and Mr. Reynante A. Salamillas Jr. of Grey’s Food Products, makers of artisanal hot sauce; Ms. Ariane F. Estrella and Mr. Genesis C. Palermo of PremnaProtect, students from the Dalubhasaan ng Lungsod ng Lucena; and Mr. Uriel Lorben A. Buhay of A’s GreenGrow Hydro Naturals, Auditor of the Lucena City 4-H Club Federation.

Each of the three winning enterprises will receive β‚±80,000 in financial assistance, bringing a total of β‚±240,000 in direct investment in Lucena City’s youth-led agribusiness ventures. Beyond financial support, the program helps strengthen young entrepreneurs’ confidence, communication skills, strategic thinking, and capacity to build sustainable agricultural enterprises.

The YFC is more than a competitionβ€”it is an investment in a new generation that sees agriculture not only as a livelihood, but also as an opportunity for innovation, enterprise, and community development.

Congratulations to our Lucena City YFC Awardees! May your ideas continue to grow into enterprises that create opportunities, inspire fellow youth, and contribute to a stronger and more innovative local agri-fishery sector.
