TRAFFIC ADVISORY | Ipinababatid sa publiko na PANSAMANTALANG ISASARA ang UNDERPASS sa Maharlika Highway (MSR Diversion Road), Brgy. Gulang Gulang, mula MANILA Bound for BICOL due to Road Reblocking and Asphalt Overlaying simula SEPTEMBER 7, Lunes, ika-8 ng umaga.

Maaaring gamitin ng mga motorista ang mga sumusunod na alternatibong ruta:

-Via Eco-Tourism Road then turn left toward the MSR Old Route
-Via Domoit Road in Brgy. Bocohan, which leads to the MSR Old Route
-Via St. Peter Il Subdivision near the Iglesia ni Cristo

Binabati ng Pamahalaang Panlungsod ang mga barangay ng Lungsod ng Lucena na kinilala sa DILG IV-A JUAN Awards 2026.

Pinarangalan sa Lupon Tagapamayapa Incentives Awards (LTIA) 2026 sa Highly Urbanized City Category ang mga Barangay Talao-talao, Mayao Crossing at Ilayang Talim bilang Regional Winner, First Runner-Up at Second Runner-Up, respectively.

Kinilala rin si HUC Director Leandro Gigantoca bilang pagkilala sa kanyang mahalagang kontribusyon sa pagpapatupad ng mga programa para sa mga barangay.

LCDC APPROVES 2026 SUPPLEMENTAL ANNUAL INVESTMENT PROGRAM

The Lucena City Development Council (LCDC) approved additional funding for key programs and services under the City’s 2026 Supplemental Annual Investment Program (AIP) during its 3rd council meeting today, September 1.

The allocation was formalized through Resolution No. 2026-02, with Mayor Mark Alcala, LCDC Chairperson, presiding over the meeting alongside Vice Chairperson Councilor Americo Lacerna.

Also present during the meeting were Julieta Aparicio, City Planning and Development Office Coordinator; Rosalina Castillo, City Budget Officer; Alyssa Mijares, DLL Acting College Administrator; Councilor Reil Briones, ABC President; and Jeffrey Jumarang, representing the Office of Congressman David Suarez.

Among the beneficiaries of the supplemental funding includes Dalubhasaan ng Lungsod ng Lucena (DLL), which will receive additional budget and resources to support the efficient and effective delivery of its social, economic, and educational services.

The City Environment and Natural Resources Office (CENRO) will receive additional funding for the implementation of its solid waste management program, including the acquisition of equipment and the provision of maintenance requirements for the daily operations of the City’s sanitary landfill and other related support services.

The supplemental allocation forms part of the city government’s continuing efforts to strengthen essential public services and sustain the implementation of its development programs and projects.

Ipinagdiriwang ng Lungsod ng Lucena ang ika-65 Charter Anniversary ngayong araw, August 20.

Matatandaang noong AGOSTO 20, 1961, opisyal na ipinagdiwang ng Lucena ang inagurasyon nito bilang isang CHARTERED CITY.

Today, the City Government of Lucena commemorates the 148th birth anniversary of former President Manuel L. Quezon who served as the first President of the Commonwealth of the Philippines and is revered as the “Ama ng Wikang Pambansa.” Republic Act No. 6741 declares August 19 of each year as Quezon Day.

We are proud to share that the City of Lucena earned a 𝟗𝟒% 𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 in the 2026 Local Committees on Anti-Trafficking and Violence Against Women and their Children (LCAT-VAWC) Functionality Assessment Covering CY 2025, receiving a Highly Functional rating.

This is an improvement from last year’s 90% rating, showing the City’s continued commitment to protecting women and children, preventing trafficking, and building a safer community for everyone.
