UPLB Gender Center We are the University's focal point in gender & development concerns in instruction, research, extension & services. Manila.

The University of the Philippines Los Baños Gender Center was created during the 1234th meeting of the Board of Regents held on 31 July 2008 at U.P. It merges the Gender Program for Rural Development, the Adolescents Reproductive Health Committee and the Office of Anti-Sexual Harassment to strengthen the strategic thrusts of the University as a proactive protector of gender-related human rights. I

t likewise addresses gender concerns in instruction, research, extension and services and avert incidence of sexual harassment and improve adolescent reproductive health among UPLB constituents.

The UPLB Gender Center celebrated its 18th anniversary, since its establishment upon the approval of the Board of Regents during its 1234th meeting on 31 July 2008.

As part of the celebration, the Center recognized the 18 Women of the UPLB Gender Center for exemplifying their commitment to gender equality and the protection of gender-related human rights. It also launched the Gender and Development Management Information System (GADMIS), a digital platform that strengthens GAD planning, budgeting, monitoring, and reporting at UPLB.

The UPLB Gender Center conducted the Gender-Responsive Teaching in Higher Education: Integrating Gender Equality, Disability, Equity, and Social Inclusion (GEDSI) in Teaching, Learning, and Academic Practice training for UPLB General Education (GE) faculty members and coordinators on 3–4 August 2026 at the Development Academy of the Philippines, Tagaytay City.

This two-day training aimed to strengthen participants' understanding and application of GEDSI principles in teaching, learning, and academic practice. Through interactive discussions and activities, participants explored strategies for fostering more inclusive, equitable, and gender-responsive classrooms that recognize and address the diverse experiences, identities, and needs of students.
