"Great things never come from comfort zones"

FIRST LIEUTENANT ROGIE M MENDOZA (RESERVE) PHILIPPINE ARMY is a full time project manager. He graduated with Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering from Samar State University. He is a registered Civil Engineer and was commissioned as First Lieutenant pursuant to Section 39 of the National Defense and Republic Act No. 7077 and in accordance with Circular No. 4.
He is also a graduate of Masters in Business Administration in 2018, and Masters in Public Administration; and at present, an aspiring student of Doctor in Philosophy Major in Business Management.
He started completing various military courses offered by Navy Reserve Command namely ROTC Basic and Advance Officers Course in 2001. He became a registered Civil Engineer in 2006. In the same year, he also completed his Probationary Officer Training Course Class. Currently, 1LT MENDOZA is a full time Project Manager of Design Coordinates Incorporated (DCI) with 14 years of experience in the field of Engineering and Construction Industry.
He was presently assigned at 403rd (Laguna) Ready Reserve Infantry Battalion, 403rd Community Defense Center, 4th Regional Community Defense Group, Army Reserve Command based at Camp General Macario Sakay, Los Baños, Laguna. 1LT MENDOZA is the Operations Officer (S3) and Logistics Officer (S4) of the said unit. Apart from duties as S4, he also served as the Platoon Leader of the Bravo Company of 403RRIBn, and accomplished various activities and unit mission. He underwent series of Military Trainings offered by 403CDC, 4RCDG, and Training School of ARESCOM such as Battalion Training in 2015; Emergency First Responder Training in 2016; Gun Safety and Marksmanship Training, War Fighting Course, and Air to Ground Operation Support in 2018; and Command Post Exercise in 2019.
Two of his major accomplishments as Battalion S3 and S4 are the successful conduct of operations from January 13 to February 8, 2020 in support to the Humanitarian Assistance and Disaster Relief (HADR) to the affected communities in Batangas Province brought by the Taal Volcano Eruption. Along with the deployed strength of 15 reservist officers and 150 enlisted personnel from March 16 to June 30, 2020, 1LT MENDOZA was able to utilize his men to assist in road security, checkpoint operations, distribution of relief goods and security assistance in Social Amelioration Program to the affected communities in Laguna Province.
He opted to serve the Armed Forces of the Philippines, and joined the Army Reserve Command, because for him “Great things never came from comfort zones”.
