“Honestly, it’s embarrassing. What else should people expect from the congressman of the first district? During the election, ₱1,000 per head was allegedly handed out like it was some kind of charity. But let’s stop pretending that money came from pure generosity. Based on the reported 130,661 votes he received, that could amount to roughly ₱130,661,000 spent just to secure power. And now people are surprised he voted ‘yes’? Really?
No politician throws around more than ₱130 million without expecting to recover every centavo back once seated in office. That is not public service anymore — that looks more like an investment plan disguised as politics. Sad part is, many voters already know the game but still fall for temporary cash while the public suffers the long-term consequences.
If your loyalty can be bought for ₱1,000, then don’t act shocked when politicians start treating public positions like business transactions instead of genuine service to the people.”
