CALAPAN CITY, Oriental Mindoro โ Two suspected drug personalities were arrested while approximately 14.6 grams of suspected shabu worth โฑ99,280.00 were confiscated during a buy-bust operation conducted in Purok Vizapa, Barangay Irawan, Puerto Princesa City on June 1, 2026.
The operation was jointly conducted by operatives of Police Station 2โStation Drug Enforcement Team led by PCPT Justine Kenneth A Dalion as lead unit, in coordination with the Philippine Drug Enforcement Group (PDEG) and the 584th Aircraft Control and Warning Group (584ACWG), reflecting continuing inter-agency efforts against illegal drug activities in the region.
The arrested individuals, aged 25 and 32, are both residents of Barangay San Manuel, Puerto Princesa City.
Recovered during the operation were one sachet of suspected shabu weighing approximately 0.6 gram, allegedly sold during the transaction, along with additional sachets recovered from the two suspects, bringing the total confiscated drug evidence to approximately 14.6 grams with an estimated value of โฑ99,280.00 based on the prevailing Standard Drug Price.
The confiscated drug evidence was turned over to the Puerto Princesa City Forensic Unit for laboratory examination, while the arrested individuals remain under police custody for documentation and the filing of appropriate charges for alleged violation of Republic Act No. 9165, otherwise known as the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act of 2002.
The latest operation forms part of PRO MIMAROPAโs continuing anti-illegal drug campaign under the leadership of Acting Regional Director PBGEN Christopher R. Dela Cruz. From May 8, 2026 to present, the command has conducted 26 anti-illegal drug operations across the region, resulting in the arrest of 30 drug personalities, including nine High-Value Individuals (HVIs) and 21 Street-Level Individuals (SLIs).
The series of operations also led to the confiscation, recovery, and surrender of various illegal drugs, including suspected shabu and suspected co***ne, with a combined estimated value of more than โฑ16.6 million.
PBGEN Dela Cruz emphasized the importance of sustained intelligence-driven operations and strong coordination among operating units and partner agencies in addressing illegal drug activities across the region.
โThese accomplishments reflect the dedication and operational commitment of our personnel and partner units in pursuing illegal drug activities and protecting our communities. We will continue intensifying lawful, intelligence-driven operations to curb the proliferation of illegal drugs across MIMAROPA,โ PBGEN Dela Cruz said.
The accomplishment likewise advances the continuing implementation of PRO MIMAROPAโs F.I.G.H.T. C.R.I.M.E.S. framework through strengthened inter-agency coordination, intelligence-driven law enforcement, and sustained anti-illegal drug operations in support of safer, more secure, and drug-resilient communities across the region.
