Health Services Highlight Opening Block Activities of Loacan National High School

A total of 392 learners of Loacan National High School (LNHS) benefited from free physical examinations and dental check-ups conducted as part of the school’s opening block activities on June 9 and 10, 2026 at DepEd Tayo Loacan National High School.

The initiative was spearheaded by the Itogon Municipal Health Services Office (MHSO) under the leadership of Dr. Oliver P. GuadaΓ±a, with dental health services led by Dr. Aurora C. Cuilan and Dr. Lorna Saculles. The activity aimed to ensure that students begin the academic year in good health while promoting awareness of proper hygiene and preventive care.

The successful implementation of the program was made possible through the strong partnership with Barangay Loacan’s Barangay Health Emergency Response Team (BHERT), under the leadership of Barangay Kagawad Ramos Pay-an Sr., Committee on Health, along with the LNHS Clinic, managed by Ma’am Naomi Pay-an.
During the activity, learners received comprehensive health assessments, including physical examinations and dental services, helping identify and address common health concerns early on. The program underscored the importance of accessible school-based health initiatives in supporting students’ overall well-being and academic readiness.

The organizers extend their sincere appreciation and gratitude to the dedicated team whose efforts made the activity successful:

SY 2026-2027 OPENING BLOCK HIGHLIGHTS FIRST GENERAL PTA CONFERENCE

The school recently held its first General PTA meeting, bringing together parents and teachers to share important updates. The school gave a report on current student enrollment and presented the school calendar divided into three terms. Parents were also informed about grading and assessment so they can better understand how their children are evaluated.

During the meeting, new PTA officers were elected with the participation of parents. The school also discussed improvements in the Senior High School program to better prepare students for college and future careers. These updates aim to strengthen both academic learning and student development.

The school also shared new DepEd guidelines, including rules on cellphone use and the Emergency Learning Continuity Program. In addition, the β€œDrop and Go” policy was explained to help improve safety and traffic flow during arrival and dismissal. Parents were encouraged to cooperate with these policies for the benefit of all students.

School Opens SY 2026–2027 with Joyful Activities and Growing Enrollment

The school opened the School Year 2026–2027 with a happy and welcoming atmosphere. This year, the school recorded an increase in enrollment, with more students joining the community compared to last year. The opening program started with a morning devotion where students, teachers, and staff prayed together and asked for guidance for the new school year. School leaders then gave simple messages to inspire everyone to study well and work together.

One of the highlights of the program was the introduction of teachers. New teachers Daisy S. Puntalba and John Paul Dayuwan were warmly welcomed by the school community. The other teachers were also introduced, helping students become more familiar with their mentors. Everyone showed excitement and support, especially in welcoming the new members of the teaching staff.

After the program, students went to their classrooms for orientation. Teachers explained school rules, schedules, and expectations in simple ways so students could understand them well. Socio-emotional learning activities were also conducted to help students feel comfortable, make new friends, and express their feelings. These activities helped create a positive start, making students ready to learn and enjoy the new school year.
