The Llorente Town Fiesta Executive Committee (EXECOM) has arrived at a consensus to significantly scale down 16 pre scheduled activities to ten (10) meaningful activities for the upcoming town fiesta celebration on June 13, 2026.
During an executive committee meeting held at the Municipal Session Hall last April 2026 , the EXECOM initially approved a slate of sixteen (16) socio-cultural, religious, and sports activities. However, deliberations took a decisive turn following national and local directives on austerity measures brought about by the middle east conflict and its economic impact on local government units and communities.
Citing national and government memoranda urging all LGUs to implement austerity measures, the committee re-assessed the feasibility of a large-scale celebration.
After a period of thoughtful deliberation, the body unanimously agreed to scrape the nightly shows with a streamlined set of ten (10) core events focused on faith, community, and connection.
The approved activities for the June 13, 2026 Fiesta are as follows:
ยท The daily novenas from June 4 to the Grand Solemn Mass and Procession on June 13 - the religious centerpiece of the fiesta will push through as a collective prayer for thanksgiving, peace and prosperity
ยท "Parish Night on June 4 to be spearheaded by the St. Anthony of Padua Parish
ยท Inter-barangay Basketball Tournament from June 1-13 . Prizes (1st 50,000; 2nd 30,000; and 3rd 20,000) shall be shouldered by the hermana mayor while the tournament's operating expenses will be sourced from local or international donations. The solicitation committee is jointly chaired by the hermana mayor and Municipal Councilor Melanie S. Bocar.
Agri-Trade Fair from June 9-11 at the local Tabo-an area in Bocar St., poblacion
St. Anthony's Academy, Inc. Alumni Homecoming on June 10,2026 at the parish rectory grounds
128th Independence Day Commemorative Program on June 12 from 6:30am to 10:00am at the Municipal Covered Court in Barangay 5, Poblacion
Band Exhibition for interested school bands in Llorente sponsored by the hermana at the public plaza after the Independence Day Program; a cash incentive worth 5,000 shall be given to each participating school band courtesy of the hermana
Cycling and Marathon sponsored by the hermana mayor on June 12,2026/ 2:00pm
"Dance for a Cause" on June 12,2026 (evening) sponsored by the Hermana Mayor in collaboration with the St. Anthony of Padua Parish to be held at the parish rectory grounds (with fireworks display)
Feast of St Anthony of Padua on June 13th
This collective decision of the EXECOM shows how the traditional fiesta is redefined. The body chose connection over competition, prayer over pageantry, and community over grand festivities.
This year, Llorente's fiesta celebration will be modest, but it will be more meaningfulโa true reflection of our shared faith, resilience and unity.
