𝐈𝐂𝐘𝐌𝐈: On behalf of DOLE Batangas Provincial Director Predelma M. Tan, Senior Labor and Employment Officer Ann Jelyn F. Natividad relayed the important role of employment and livelihood opportunities in promoting peace and stability during the People Management Association of the Philippines (PMAP) CALABARZON Chapter General Membership and Learning Session.

The learning activity was held on August 28 at Balai Isabel in Talisay, Batangas, and brought together 120 HR (Human Resources) and people management practitioners from across the CALABARZON region.

Ms. Natividad relayed the recent peace and order developments and highlighted the impact of key DOLE programs, including the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) and the DOLE Integrated Livelihood Program (DILP).

Furthermore, she stressed that access to decent employment and sustainable livelihood opportunities helps build stronger families and communities, making employment an important component of efforts to foster peace and stability.

Under the leadership of DOLE Secretary Francis M. Tolentino, DOLE Batangas continues to strengthen its collaboration with employers, workers, and HR practitioners in advancing workplace peace, harmonious dialogues, and meaningful employment opportunities for all.

In line with the directive and continuing programs of DOLE Secretary Francis N. Tolentino to provide meaningful employment opportunities and immediate assistance to disadvantaged workers, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Batangas, in partnership with the Office of the 4th District representative, conducted a Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa Ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Orientation on August 28, 2026, at the Rosario Cultural and Sports Center in Rosario, Batangas. A total of 2,087 beneficiaries from Ibaan, Padre Garcia, Rosario, San Jose, San Juan, and Taysan participated in the orientation.

Through TUPAD, beneficiaries will receive ₱6,000 wages for 10 days of work, along with one-year Group Personal Accident Insurance (GPAI) coverage. The beneficiaries will undertake community-based activities such as cleaning and de-clogging canals, maintaining and cleaning schools and covered courts, and trimming excess tree branches and grass. This initiative reflects DOLE’s continuing commitment to provide temporary livelihood opportunities while promoting cleaner, safer, and more resilient communities across Batangas.

This consultation will provide an opportunity for stakeholders to share their views, comments, and recommendations on the proposed determination of the minimum wage. The inputs gathered will form part of the Board’s continuing wage review and deliberations.

As part of its continuing efforts to prepare students for employment, the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), in partnership with the Public Employment Service Office (PESO) Sto. Tomas City, conducted a back-to-back Labor Education for Graduating Students (LEGS) sessions to the graduating students of Sto. Tomas City, Batangas.

Around 200 senior high school students from Sta. Clara Integrated National High School participated in a session facilitated by Arlene A. Garcia, Labor and Employment Officer III of DOLE Batangas.

Meanwhile, on August 25, Rozil A. Regodos, also a Labor and Employment Officer III, imparted her knowledge on General Labor Standards to 485 graduating students of the Polytechnic University of the Philippines–Sto. Tomas City Campus.

By equipping graduating students with foundational labor knowledge and strong awareness on their professional rights and duties, these joint initiatives ensure that the emerging workforce enters the labor workforce informed, protected, and prepared.
