PESO to hold PH’s 1st night job market
Lingayen – A night job market, the very first of its kind in the country, is set to heat up in a different way the evening revelry of the Pangasinan Pistay Dayat on May 1.
The employment activity of the Pangasinan Employment Services Office (PESO) will begin at 6 o’clock in the evening until 12 midnight, in contrast to the previously held jobs fairs that clocked in from 8 a.m.-6 p.m.
PESO manager Alex F. Ferrer, in an interview said, “the activity was pushed to nighttime because it targets not only to help the unemployed land a job but also for the underemployed to be able to participate in seeking proper employment as it is done after working hours.”
Traveling applicants from faraway municipalities need not worry about commuting back to their hometowns as sleeping quarters, free of charge, are prepared for them by the office at the Narciso Ramos Sports and Civic Center.
Some 500 to 700 jobseekers are expected to flock the event and be placed on vacancies abroad as nurses, doctors, medical help personnel, construction, factory, and industrially skilled manpower in United Kingdom and in the Middle East.
The PESO chief assured participants that the overseas placement firms that will take part in the program are duly accredited and reputable, including the country’s no.1 recruitment company Industrial Personnel and Management Services, Inc.
Also up-for-grabs are local placements in hotel and restaurant management, sales and production.
Ferrer advised applicants to prepare three sets of resume supported with copies of credentials, passport and Unified Multi-Purpose Identification card from the Social Security System.
He added that applicants must familiarize themselves with the process of work they would apply for beforehand to ace the interviews. The overseas jobseekers are also urged to converse in English.
Tying up with PESO in staging this event are the People Management Association of the Philippines-Pangasinan Chapter and Pangasinan Association of Private Technical/Vocational Institution, Inc.
