Following the Magnitude 7.8 earthquake in Mindanao, the DILG Pangasinan reminds all LGUs and communities to remain vigilant and proactive.

Through the Infrastructure Audit Program, LGUs are enjoined to:
✔️ Prioritize public buildings for inspection
✔️ Conduct Rapid Visual Screening for seismic hazards
✔️ Perform detailed structural inspections when necessary

Makiisa sa mahalagang talakayan para sa mas makabago, episyente, at mas inklusibong lokal na pamamahala sa ginaganap na Regional Consultation Workshop on the Local Government Code Review and Amendment Program (LGC RevAmP) at TAMBAYAN on Decentralization Roadshow ngayong Hunyo 10–11, 2026 sa Patio by Balai Norte, San Juan, La Union.

Pinagsasama ng aktibidad na ito ang iba’t ibang sektor at mga stakeholder upang suriin at pag-usapan ang mga kinakailangang pagbabago sa Local Government Code of 1991.

Layunin nitong matiyak na ang mga polisiya at mekanismo ng pamahalaang lokal ay nananatiling angkop sa kasalukuyang panahon at epektibong tumutugon sa patuloy na nagbabagong pangangailangan ng mga komunidad.

Sa pamamagitan ng konsultasyong ito, isinusulong ang mas matibay na desentralisasyon, mas mabilis na paghahatid ng serbisyo publiko, at higit na pakikilahok ng mamamayan sa proseso ng lokal na pamamahala.

𝐋𝐎𝐎𝐊 | 𝐈𝐧𝐟𝐨𝐫𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐄𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐂𝐨𝐦𝐦𝐮𝐧𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 (𝐈𝐄𝐂) 𝐂𝐚𝐦𝐩𝐚𝐢𝐠𝐧 𝐨𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐒𝐚𝐧 𝐑𝐨𝐪𝐮𝐞 𝐃𝐚𝐦

Spearheaded by the Provincial Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Office (PDRRMO) Pangasinan, the activity was conducted in coordination with the National Power Corporation (NAPOCOR), San Roque Power Corporation (SRPC), DOST-PAGASA, and DILG Pangasinan.

The activity aimed to enhance the participants' understanding of dam operations, weather monitoring, public safety, and community preparedness. During the activity, Atty. Kandace Lorraine M. Palagud, PADAC Secretariat, represented Governor Ramon V. Guico III and conveyed the Provincial Government’s continued support for initiatives that strengthen disaster resilience and community preparedness.

Following the IEC Campaign, a Simulation Exercise (SIMEX) was conducted at Sitio Sta. Cruz, Brgy. Macayo, Alcala, Pangasinan to assess the preparedness and response capabilities of concerned stakeholders and communities in the event of dam-related emergencies.

The exercise demonstrated the strong coordination and active participation of the residents of Sitio Sta. Cruz, Brgy. Macayo, members of the Local Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils (LDRRMCs), Barangay Disaster Risk Reduction and Management Councils (BDRRMCs), Community Volunteer Organizations (CVOs), Philippine National Police (PNP), Bureau of Fire and Protection (BFP), and other concerned agencies.

The SIMEX was evaluated by representatives from the Office of Civil Defense (OCD) Region I, PDRRMO, SRPC, NAPOCOR, DOST-PAGASA, and DILG Pangasinan providing observations and recommendations to further strengthen disaster preparedness and response mechanisms.

The successful conduct of both the IEC Campaign and Simulation Exercise underscores the collective commitment of government agencies, local authorities, emergency responders, and residents to building safer, more resilient communities.

DILG Pangasinan remains steadfast in its commitment to promoting disaster resilience through continuous capacity-building, information-sharing, and collaborative initiatives that empower both institutions and communities.
