Celebrating excellence, unity, and progress.

Sampongan Elementary School conducts the State of the School Address cm ARAL Program Recognition Day—honoring achievements, strengthening partnerships, and inspiring every learner to shine.

The State of the School Address (SOSA) brought the school community together in a meaningful celebration of achievements and future goals. The program opened with a solemn prayer led by Mr. Jonathan M. Orilla, the Kindergarten Teacher and the singing of the national anthem conducted by Mrs. Aiza P. Cruz, Grade 1 teacher, setting a respectful and unified tone. This was followed by the State of the School Address of Mr. Dar Joseph Mariscotes, the school head of Sampongan Elementary School—which highlighted key accomplishments, shared important updates, and outlined plans for continuous improvement.

The SPTA Assembly came next, featuring reports from Ms. Rochel Borbo, the SPTA treasurer and Mr. Jun Broñia , the SPTA president. It was followed along with discussions facilitated by class advisers to strengthen collaboration between parents and the school.

The event concluded with the ARAL Program Recognition, where learners were awarded ribbons in recognition of their efforts, and volunteer tutors received certificates of appreciation for their dedication and support. Present in the activity were the Sampongan ES teaching and non-teaching personnel, parents, pupils, and the ARAL tutors namely: Ma’am Sara Mae G. Rempillo, Ma’am Mona Riza Nieva, and ma’am Janice Ortega.

Overall, the gathering not only celebrated academic progress but also underscored the strong partnership among educators, parents, and learners—reaffirming the school’s commitment to quality education and active community involvement.

With the theme "Brigada Eskwela: Sama-sama Para sa Bayang Bumabasa," this year’s campaign centers on the power of volunteerism in advancing literacy development across the nation. The initiative drew the active participation of parents, guardians, school personnel, and various stakeholders who gathered to help prepare the school for the opening of classes.

In his opening remarks, Mr. Dar Joseph B. Mariscotes, the school principal emphasized the importance of community collaboration in ensuring a safe, resilient, and well-equipped learning environment. “This year, we are not only cleaning and fixing our facilities, but we are also planting the seeds of learning through literacy,” he said.

Aside from the inauguration of the mini library — a new learning space designed to nurture young readers. Other activities throughout the day included a clean-up drive, classroom repairs, and a tree-planting activity around the school premises.
