Please be informed that North Eastern Mindanao State University (NEMSU) will temporarily adjust its operating hours for the week of March 16–20, 2026, in view of the declaration of Friday, March 20, 2026 as a regular holiday pursuant to Proclamation No. 1189, s. 2026.
𝐎𝐩𝐞𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐧𝐠 𝐇𝐨𝐮𝐫𝐬 (𝐌𝐚𝐫𝐜𝐡 𝟏𝟔–𝟏𝟗, 𝟐𝟎𝟐𝟔 | 𝐌𝐨𝐧𝐝𝐚𝐲–𝐓𝐡𝐮𝐫𝐬𝐝𝐚𝐲)
All administrative offices shall observe the regular eight (8)-hour work schedule from 8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. in place of the ten-hour compressed workweek schedule previously implemented.
𝐂𝐥𝐚𝐬𝐬𝐞𝐬
All classes shall proceed as scheduled, except on Friday, March 20, 2026, which is a declared holiday.
The Compressed Workweek Schedule under Joint Memorandum No. 03-001-2026 shall resume on March 23, 2026, as previously planned.
All concerned units are directed to ensure the proper dissemination and strict implementation of this advisory.

2 day-performance review and action planning of NEMSU system wide Librarians and staff held on February 12-13, 2025 at Boss James Beach Resort in Cagwait, Surigao del Sur, Philippines.

This special gathering was a time to reflect, share ideas, and plan for better library services.

We are also grateful and happy that NEMSU-Lianga Campus Library received an award for Outstanding Performance in the Implementation of Library Programs, Projects, and Activities for Fiscal Year 2025.

Thank you to everyone who worked hard and supported our library. Together, we continue to serve with dedication and heart. 💙📖

STARBOOKS Now Available at NEMSU–Lianga Library

The NEMSU–Lianga Campus Library has taken a meaningful step toward strengthening its learning resources with the recent installation of updated STARBOOKS through the effort of DOST Caraga. It is now ready for use, offering both students and faculty a richer and more accessible research experience.

What is STARBOOKS?
STARBOOKS, or the Science and Technology Academic and Research-Based Openly Operated Kiosk Stations, is an offline digital library developed by the Department of Science and Technology– Science and Technology Information Institute (DOST–STII). It is a compact information hub—filled with thousands of science and technology materials such as books, journals, research papers, and interactive content—all available without needing an internet connection.

How the Kiosks Benefit Students and Faculty?

The newly installed STARBOOKS unit will serve as a reliable academic resource within the NEMSU–Lianga campus.
*Students can use the kiosks to look up references for assignments, explore new topics, and deepen their understanding of lessons.
*Faculty members can access reliable science and technology resources for preparing lectures or guiding student research work.

Easy Registration and Assistance

Anyone who wants to use STARBOOKS simply needs to register directly to the kiosk and begin to explore the content. For those who needs an assistance, the library staff are willing to help with the registration process and guide through the system.

The installation of STARBOOKS at NEMSU–Lianga marks an important step toward strengthening the campus’ research culture and improving access to quality information resources. Through this initiative, DOST Caraga and the NEMSU–Lianga Library continue to empower the academic community with reliable, technology-driven learning tools.

“NEMSU-Lianga Librarian Participates in PLAI Congress 2025 and General Assembly”

The Librarian of NEMSU-Lianga Campus, in the person of Mrs. Jehoney A. Opalla attended the PLAI Congress 2025 and General Assembly held from November 23–26, 2025, at the SMX Convention Center in Bacolod City, with the theme “PLAI BRIDGES: Borderless. Research-based. Innovative. Developmental. Global. Equitable. Sustainable.” She participated in plenary sessions that focused on research-based and equitable practices in librarianship. On the third day, she attended sessions emphasizing key pillars of the theme, including the topic on Developmental (“Stepping Forward: A Pathway to Leadership and Impact”), Global (“Leading Global Engagement in Philippine Libraries: Innovation and Empowerment”), Equitable (“Serving the Invisible: Advocating for Equity in Every Shelf and Service”), and Sustainable (“Bridging the Gap: Tackling Functional Illiteracy in the Philippines through Library Intervention”). Her participation offered valuable insights into the library services and strategies for the different engagement, which will contribute to enhancing the quality and responsiveness of library services at NEMSU-Lianga.

ISO Internal Audit at NEMSU-Lianga Campus on November 13, 2025

On November 13, 2025, NEMSU-Lianga Library successfully participated in the ISO internal audit. The internal auditors from NEMSU-Tandag Campus review the different library operations and services thoroughly. The activity aimed to ensure continuous quality improvement, compliance with the standards, and a strengthened commitment to providing efficient and student-centered services.
