The center of Tropical Storm BASYANG was estimated based on all available data over the coastal waters of Malimono, Surigao del Norte (9.4°N, 125.5°E).

Intensity:
Maximum sustained winds of 65 km/h near the center, gustiness of up to 90 km/h, and central pressure of 1000 hPa

Present Movement:
West northwestward at 20 km/h

Severe Winds
The wind signals warn the public of the general wind threat over an area due to the tropical cyclone. Local winds may be slightly stronger/enhanced in coastal and upland/mountainous areas exposed to winds. Winds are less strong in areas sheltered from the prevailing wind direction.

• Minimal to minor impacts from strong winds are possible within any of the areas under Wind Signal No. 1.
• Minor to moderate impacts from gale-force winds are possible within any of the areas under Wind Signal No. 2.

TRACK AND INTENSITY OUTLOOK

• It must be emphasized that heavy rainfall and severe winds may still be experienced in localities outside the landfall point and the forecast confidence cone. Refer to “Other Hazards affecting Land Areas” for more details. Furthermore, the track may still shift within the limit of the forecast confidence cone.
• BASYANG will move generally west northwestward throughout the forecast period. On the forecast track, the center of BASYANG may pass close or make landfall over Bohol and southern portions of Cebu and Negros Oriental. Afterwards, it will emerge over Sulu Sea, pass close to Cuyo Islands, and cross the northern portion of Palawan.
• BASYANG will likely remain a tropical storm while traversing the Central Visayas and Negros Island Region. Further weakening into a tropical depression is possible tonight or tomorrow morning and will be downgraded into a low pressure area by Sunday (08 February) morning.

Considering these developments, the public and disaster risk reduction and management offices concerned are advised to take all necessary measures to protect life and property. Persons living in areas identified to be highly or very highly susceptible to these hazards are advised to follow evacuation and other instructions from local officials. As of the 10:41 AM radar image, due to TS ADA, moderate to heavy rains are being experienced over some municipalities of northern Iloilo (Carles, Estancia, Batad, San Dionisio, Concepcion, Ajuy, Balasan, , Barotac Viejo, and nearby areas), while scattered rains are being experienced over the rest of northern Iloilo and the province of Capiz. • WILMA will slightly intensify before landfall but will likely remain as a tropical depression throughout the forecast period. Further intensification is possible once it emerges over the West Philippine Sea.

Ang mga masunod nga barangays indi na passable ang overflows:

* Barangay Nasapahan
* Barangay Yawyawan
* Barangay San Jose
* Barangay Pontoc, Sitio Cabugao

Ang tubig ulan sa Barangay Imbaulan Highway kanto na sa karsada.

Padayon pa ang aton pag-monitor sa iban nga kabarangayan.

Ginapanugyan sa tanan nga Lemerenhon ang pagpabilin sa sulod sang aton panimalay. Kon may emerhensiya, makig-angut sa aton Barangay Officials ukon mahimu magtawag sa aton MDRRMO / Lemery Response Team Hotline - 09641016321.
