​Accurate screening is the first line of defense against Tuberculosis. Healthcare workers gathered for a comprehensive Tuberculin Skin Test (TST) practical training session, focusing on the critical skills required for effective latent TB screening and evaluation.

​The hands-on workshop emphasized:

​Precision Preparation:
Mastering the exact dosage and preparation of the antigen.

​Intradermal Technique:
Practicing the precise angle and depth required to successfully administer the intradermal injection and produce a proper wheal.

​Safety & Biohazard Protocols:
Reinforcing proper disposal and sharps safety using designated biohazard containers to ensure a secure environment for both healthcare workers and patients.

​Equipping medical personnel with these standardized clinical skills ensures accurate detection, timely evaluation, and better outcomes for our community. 🩺💼

Integrated DR-TPT and NTP monitoring visit in City Health Unit - Tabaco.

Drug-Resistant Tuberculosis (DRTB) has growing burden in the region over the past years. Household contacts of DRTB patients are at higher risk of infection and disease progression underscoring the need for effecrive strategies. Among the intervention identified is strengthening prevention measures including the advance implementation of TB Preventive treatment for DRTB contacts in selected sites including Bicol Region.
