Bicol University proudly joins the celebration of ASEAN Month through its participation in the ๐‚๐‡๐„๐ƒ ๐‘๐ž๐ ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐Ž๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐ข๐œ๐ž ๐• ๐€๐’๐„๐€๐ ๐Š๐ข๐œ๐ค-๐จ๐Ÿ๐Ÿ ๐‚๐ž๐ฅ๐ž๐›๐ซ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง, held yesterday, August 26, 2026, at Marison Hotel, Legazpi City.

As part of the celebration, Bicol University showcased its internationalization journey through an exhibition booth inspired by Vietnam and Timor-Leste, highlighting the University's growing international engagements, partnerships, and commitment to strengthening its presence within the ASEAN community.

The ๐๐ข๐œ๐จ๐ฅ ๐”๐ง๐ข๐ฏ๐ž๐ซ๐ฌ๐ข๐ญ๐ฒ ๐ˆ๐ง๐ญ๐ž๐ซ๐ง๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐š๐ฅ ๐‘๐ž๐ฅ๐š๐ญ๐ข๐จ๐ง๐ฌ ๐Ž๐Ÿ๐Ÿ๐ข๐œ๐ž (๐ˆ๐‘๐Ž), under the Office of the President and led by ๐๐ซ๐จ๐Ÿ. ๐„๐ฏ๐š๐ง๐ ๐ž๐ฅ๐ข๐ง๐ž ๐ƒ. ๐‡๐จ๐ง๐ซ๐š๐๐จ, coordinated and facilitated the preparation of the University's booth. The initiative was made possible through the conceptualization, creativity, resourcefulness, and collaborative efforts of BU students, College Student Councils, and faculty members of the ๐ˆ๐ง๐ฌ๐ญ๐ข๐ญ๐ฎ๐ญ๐ž ๐จ๐Ÿ ๐ƒ๐ž๐ฌ๐ข๐ ๐ง ๐š๐ง๐ ๐€๐ซ๐œ๐ก๐ข๐ญ๐ž๐œ๐ญ๐ฎ๐ซ๐ž (๐ˆ๐ƒ๐ž๐€), headed by its newly appointed Director, ๐€๐ซ. ๐ƒ๐ž๐ฅ๐Ÿ๐ข๐ง ๐Œ. ๐Œ๐ข๐ซ๐š๐›๐ž๐ญ๐ž.

Adding to the booth's showcase were products and innovations from the BU Fabrication Laboratory, headed by its Director, ๐๐ซ๐จ๐Ÿ. ๐€๐ฅ๐Ÿ๐จ๐ง๐ฌ๐จ ๐Œ. ๐๐žรฑ๐จ๐ฅ. Technical support was further provided by the Information and Communications Technology Office (ICTO), led by ๐ƒ๐ซ. ๐€๐ซ๐ข๐ฌ ๐‰. ๐Ž๐ซ๐๐จรฑ๐ž๐ณ; logistics support from the College of Science, led by ๐ƒ๐ซ. ๐‹๐ข๐ฅ๐ข๐›๐ž๐ญ๐ก ๐€. ๐‚๐š๐ฃ๐ฎ๐๐š๐ฒ; and general logistical assistance from the General Services Office (GSO), headed by ๐Œ๐ซ. ๐‘๐ž๐ฒ ๐๐š๐๐ข๐ฅ๐ฅ๐š.

The celebration brought together higher education institutions and stakeholders for a day of commemoration, cultural learning, and meaningful dialogue, featuring discussions on ASEAN culture, friendship, cooperation, and the role of higher education institutions in advancing regional goals.

Through its active participation, Bicol University reaffirms its commitment to ASEAN solidarity, internationalization, intercultural understanding, and stronger regional partnerships, continuing to build bridges between Bicol University and the wider ASEAN community.
