🇵🇭 Lawaan Celebrates the 128th Philippine Independence Day 🇵🇭

The Municipality of Lawaan joins the entire nation in celebrating the 128th Philippine Independence Day with the theme, “Kalayaan. Kinabukasan. Kasaysayan.”

Guided by the dedicated and compassionate Mayor, Hon. Athene L. Mendros, together with the people-centered and participatory Vice Mayor, Hon. Ravi Parker G. Inciso, municipal officials, employees, uniformed personnel, and members of the community gathered to pay tribute to the bravery and sacrifices of our heroes who fought for the freedom we enjoy today.

May we continue to uphold the values of freedom, unity, and patriotism in our daily lives, not only today, but every day.

June 11, 2026 | Committee Meeting on Proposed Ordinances

The Sangguniang Bayan of Lawaan conducted a Committee Meeting to deliberate on four proposed ordinances sponsored by Hon. Roger A. Eder, Hon. Bonifacio P. Inciso, Jr., and Hon. Nelia Miralles. These proposed measures are aimed at promoting public safety, protecting the welfare of children and minors, and strengthening peace and order within the Municipality of Lawaan.

The activity provided an opportunity for productive discussions and consultations among concerned offices and stakeholders to ensure that the proposed ordinances are responsive, practical, and beneficial to the community.

We extend our heartfelt gratitude to all invited department heads, agency representatives, law enforcement personnel, and partner-stakeholders who attended the meeting and generously shared their valuable insights, recommendations, and expertise. As the Chairperson of the Committee on Food and Agriculture, Hon. Eder has consistently championed the welfare of our farmers and fisherfolk, advocating for programs and policies that strengthen their livelihoods and promote sustainable agricultural development in our municipality.

Today, the Sangguniang Bayan of Lawaan, led by Vice Mayor Ravi Parker G. Inciso, a strong advocate of community involvement, attended the 1st Farmers and Fisherfolk Day Celebration following its institutionalization through an ordinance enacted and approved last year.

The celebration highlighted the invaluable contributions of our farmers and fisherfolk to the municipality’s growth and development. During the program, various Civil Society Organizations (CSOs) were awarded their Certificates of Accreditation together with the Sangguniang Bayan Resolution approving the same. This reflects the strong partnership and continuing collaboration between the LGU and its partner CSOs in promoting inclusive and people-centered governance.

This meaningful event was made possible through the unwavering support and leadership of Mayor Athene L. Mendros.

Together, let us continue empowering our communities and recognizing the vital role of our farmers, fisherfolk, and stakeholders in building a stronger and more progressive Lawaan.

The Sangguniang Bayan of Lawaan proudly joined the Opening Ceremony of the Lawaan Fiesta Sports Festival 2026, led by Vice Mayor Ravi Parker G. Inciso and made possible through the full support of Mayor Athene L. Mendros.

This celebration of sportsmanship and unity reflects our shared commitment to fostering camaraderie, discipline, and a healthy community spirit among Law-ananons.

Despite the day’s festivities, the Sangguniang Bayan remained steadfast in its duties and promptly conducted its First Regular Session for the month of April, demonstrating that public service continues, rain or shine, celebration or duty💪!

Purple Session for Women’s Month 💜

Today, the Sangguniang Bayan of Lawaan proved that real men wear purple😂, and wear it proudly in support of Women’s Month!

Clad in shades of purple, the Council conducted its regular session while showing solidarity with all women in the community. Beyond the color, it is a simple yet meaningful gesture to recognize the strength, resilience, and contributions of women in shaping our society. Because at the end of the day, good governance isn’t just about passing ordinances. It is also about standing for what matters, and that includes gender equality.

March 18, 2026 | Under the leadership of Vice Mayor Ravi Parker G. Inciso, the Sangguniang Bayan of Lawaan conducted its regular session at the Barangay Hall of Brgy. Poblacion 03, Lawaan, Eastern Samar, reflecting his strong commitment to making governance more accessible and responsive to the people.

Conducting sessions in the barangay allows the Sangguniang Bayan to directly hear real concerns on the ground and respond faster with concrete actions. This is public service in action—listening, engaging, and delivering.

A heartfelt thank you to the Barangay Council of Brgy. Poblacion 03, led by PB Susana Egargo, for the warm welcome and accommodation.

We are also honored by the presence of Governor Ralph Vincent “RV” Evardone, who reaffirmed his support to the municipality, together with Municipal Mayor Hon. Athene L. Mendros, whose leadership continues to drive the municipality forward.
