Following the deliberations of the Municipal Peace and Order Council (MPOC) during its Special Meeting on August 27, 2026, representatives from the DILG Laurel Field Office conducted an on-site visit to Martin Esperanza Elementary School at Bugaan East, Laurel, Batangas on September 3, 2026, in connection with the Nationwide Simultaneous School Safety Drill.

The DILG Laurel Field Office served as an observer and support partner during the conduct of the drill. The visit also provided an opportunity to discuss the implementation of safety and preparedness measures and identify local concerns.

Through its field-level support and coordination, DILG Laurel continues to contribute to strengthening local preparedness and promoting safer and more responsive communities.

The Municipality of Laurel today conducted the distribution of rice assistance to qualified beneficiaries under the Local Government Support Fundโ€“Financial Assistance to Local Government Units (LGSF-FALGU) Food Assistanceโ€“Rice Distribution Project, as part of the governmentโ€™s continuing efforts to bring assistance closer to families and communities.

Through this initiative, eligible beneficiaries receive 10 kilograms of rice to help ease household food expenses and strengthen food security, particularly among poor, near-poor, vulnerable, minimum-wage, and other deserving families.

The project forms part of the Administrationโ€™s Bawat Barangay Makikinabang thrustโ€”bringing national government resources closer to the grassroots through local governments that are in a better position to identify and reach families who need assistance.

In Laurel, the DILG Laurel Field Office supports the implementation through coordination, technical assistance, and monitoring in accordance with the prescribed national guidelines.

The successful conduct of the distribution reflects the continuing partnership among the National Government, the Provincial Government, the Municipal Government of Laurel, barangay officials, and DILG, working together to bring government assistance closer to the people.
