Some people come into our workplace and quietly leave a mark that time can never erase.

Sir JC, in your 7 months of service as a deployed Medical Technologist from DOH, you became more than a colleague to us — you became part of our family.

From Brgy Canituan to Brgy. Capnayan, you ended up so well. From long hours inside the laboratory, countless extractions, blood typing activities in the community, and PK activities — your dedication never went unnoticed. The laboratory personnel will always remember you especially the laughters being shared during busy laboratory days.

Wherever your journey takes you, may you continue to inspire and touch many lives just as you did here in Laua-an.

Ang Cervical Cancer amo ang sara sa mga nagapanguna nga klase kang kanser sa kababayen-an.

Agud dya mapunggan kag madetect kang temprano, ang Laua-an Primary Care Facility (PCF) and Birthing Center naga-offer kang Cervical Cancer Screening paagi sa VIA ukon Visual Inspection using Acetic Acid.

🎯💡Para sa dugang nga kasayuran:

🔍 Ano ang VIA Screening?

Ang VIA amo ang Visual Inspection using Acetic Acid.

Sara dya ka simple nga paagi kang pagpa-usisa kang cervix kang kababayen-an agud makita kon may dyan bla nga senyales kang kanser o pre-kanser.

Sa VIA screening, ginapahidan kang aslum (acetic acid o s**a, ukon “langgaw”) ang cervix. Pagkatapos pira ka minutos, ginalantaw kon may lugar nga nagaputi – amo dya ang posible nga may abnormalidad.

🎯 Katuyuan kang VIA Screening
• Agud madetect kang temprano ang mga precancerous lesions sa cervix.
• Agud mapunggan ang pagkalaon kang cervical cancer sa kababayen-an.
• Libre dya nga serbisyo nga ginatugro kang aton Health Office kag LGU para sa ika-ayong lawas kang tanan.

🎯 Ginatarget na kadya ang mga kababayen-an nga naga-edad 30 tubtob 65 anyos, labi na gid ang wara pa nakaagi kang cervical cancer screening.

🎯 Ang hindi pwede makapa VIA amo ang:
• naga busong
• na operahan ka TABHSO
• naga regla sa adlaw kang schedule

Local Health Board Meeting Conducted at Mayor’s Conference Room

The Local Health Board convened for its scheduled meeting on May 13, 2026, at the Mayor’s Conference Room to discuss important health programs, policies, and updates aimed at strengthening healthcare services in the municipality.

The meeting was attended by local officials, health personnel, and members of the Local Health Board who actively participated in discussions concerning the municipality’s health priorities and plans.

Among the major agenda discussed during the meeting was the presentation of the LGU Local Health Scorecard 2026. The board also reviewed the Barangay Health Worker (BHW) Profile to assess the current status and distribution of health workers in the different barangays.

The proposed Annual Operational Plan (AOP) 2027 was likewise presented and deliberated to align future health programs and activities with the healthcare needs of the community. Updates on the PhilHealth Monitoring Result were also discussed to evaluate the implementation and utilization of PhilHealth services within the municipality.

One of the highlights of the meeting was the approval of resolutions accrediting Barangay Health Workers (BHWs) for Calendar Year 2026, recognizing their important role in delivering primary healthcare services at the community level.

The board also tackled the re-organization of the BHW Registration and Accreditation Committee to further strengthen the accreditation process and support system for barangay health workers.

In addition, members discussed and adopted several local health policies aimed at improving healthcare delivery, program implementation, and public health management in the municipality.

The meeting concluded with the reaffirmation of the Local Health Board’s commitment to promote responsive, accessible, and quality healthcare services for the people of Laua-an.

Free Mobile X-Ray Services Conducted in Laua-an Through Multi-Sector Partnership
May 11–12, 2026

International Care Ministries Foundation Inc., in partnership with the Local Government Unit of Laua-an, the Department of Health, and the Provincial Health Office, successfully conducted a Free Mobile X-Ray Activity in Barangay Leon and Barangay Poblacion, Laua-an, Antique on May 11–12, 2026.

The two-day activity aimed to provide accessible chest X-ray services to residents as part of the continuing efforts to promote early detection and prevention of tuberculosis and other respiratory illnesses within the community.

The activity also reaffirmed the commitment of local and national health partners in improving public health services and promoting the well-being of every Laua-anon.

Ang tinutuyo kadya nga hirikuton amo ang mapataas ukon ma improbar ang ACTIVE TB CASE FINDING sa banwa ka Laua-an. Gani, amo dya ang pwede magpa Xray:

📍15 ang edad pasaka nga nagabatyag ka sinyales kag sintomas ka TB parehas ka:
• naga ubo masobra 2 ka semana
• naga niwang
• naga sakit ang likod
• wara ti gana magkaon
• naga hilanat kun aga kag sirum
📍naka agi imaw or my exposure sa tawo nga gina bulong ukon kaagi bulong sa TB
