The Las Nieves Water District extends its heartfelt gratitude to the Commission on Audit (COA) Audit Team headed by OIC Audit Team Leader Ma’am Christine Ferl B. Eliot and company for the successful conduct of the COA Exit Conference held yesterday, May 18, 2026.
Following the exit conference, Mayor Karen Kai Rosales visited the LNWD Office for a coordination and consultative meeting together with the Board of Directors and Management of the Water District. The meeting focused on identifying possible support and collaborative initiatives from the Local Government Unit (LGU) to further improve, enhance, and innovate the services of the Water District for the benefit of all concessionaires.
Mayor Karen emphasized the urgent need to address the recurring water interruptions being experienced by consumers. She recognized the challenges faced by the Water District, particularly its limited resources and the complex nature of its service areas, considering that the pumping sources are located in different and distant areas. Despite these challenges, the Mayor assured the full support of the LGU to help strengthen the operational capacity and sustainability of the Water District until it can fully stand on its own resources and capabilities.
The Mayor also expressed her strong commitment to help the Water District achieve a sustainable and reliable water supply system that will provide excellent services and greater satisfaction to all concessionaires. She highlighted that this remains one of the shared goals of the LGU, the Board of Directors, and the Management of LNWD.
Moreover, it was recognized that many of the barangay water systems previously turned over to the Water District are already facing major operational issues and require rehabilitation and system improvement. Through strong cooperation, collaboration, and convergence of efforts among stakeholders, LNWD remains hopeful that these challenges will be addressed and that better water services will soon be experienced by all communities covered by the Water District.
Together, we move forward toward a more reliable, sustainable, and people-centered water service for the Municipality of Las Nieves.
